Several Perry firefight
ers stopped for a picture
as they collected six trash
cans donated by Wal-Mart
for their fund-raising effort
for the Georgia Firefighters
Burn Foundation. According
to department secretary
Nikki Dorough, firefight
ers plan to place the trash
cans in locai schools to col
lect aluminum cans to raise
money for the foundation.

Association competed in
the 44th annual Georgia
TSA State Conference &
Competition held April
20-22 at the National
Fairgrounds and Agricenter
in Perry and brought home
10 top 10 awards. The
state level competition
attracted about 50 high
schools and middle schools.
Bonaire Middle students
won the following:
B Kristin Walker, first,
prepared speech; first, tech
nical writing.
B Stephanie Copeland,
first, video challenge; sec
ond, digital photography.
B Rhett Kubasiak and
Kyle Steele, third, (team
event), structural challenge;
sixth, technical design chal
lenge.
B Andrew Meeker, sixth,
career challenge.
B Bobby Martin, Devin
Waller and Laki Green,
sixth (team event), systems

outdoor Christian concert

Awakening, Go Fish and

bined their resources to pres
ent the inaugural Outdoor
Christian Concert to be
held in Downtown Perry on
Carroll Street on May 20.
The event is slated to run
from 6-10 p.m. and include
performances from local art
ists such as “Bondservant”
and “JJ Weeks”.
Also on tap to perform
is “Master’s Table,” the
Christian rock group with
Nugget from The Hook as
their drummer, as well as
the award winning rock
group, “Decembeßadio”
named “Face to Watch for
2006” by Billboard maga
zine.
According to a news
release, “The ‘Wake
Up Perry Music Fest’ is
designed to be fun for the
whole family.”
In addition to the musical
performances, there will
be speaking appearances
by Algernon Tennyson and
Charlie Bibb.
The event is free, but the
