Miss Charli Williamson
Miss Charli Lynn Wil
liamson, age 27, of Vidalia,
died on Friday, Septem
ber 24, 2021, at Memorial
Health Meadows Hospital
in Vidalia after a brief battle
with Covid.
Miss Williamson was
a native of Biloxi, MS, and
later lived at Eglin Air Force
Base, FL, before moving to
Toombs County in 2004.
She attended Toombs
County High School and
was currently a 911 dis
patcher with the Toombs
County Sheriff’s Depart
ment.
Her family includes
her father, David C. Wil
liamson and wife Rena of
Graham; her mother, Jill
Lynn Steptoe and husband
Brian of Vidalia; 7 siblings,
Cody Williamson and wife
Whittney of Johnson Cor
ner, Avery Steptoe, Kinsley
Steptoe, Michael Steptoe,
all of Swainsboro, Tripp
Hardee, Tyler Hardee,
both of Baxley, and Caylan
Mason of Uvalda.
A graveside funeral
was held on Monday, Sep
tember 27, 2021, at 11:00
a.m., at Lyons City Cem
etery, with Pastor Steve
McGuire officiating.

Tripp Hardee, Tyler Hard
ee, Daniel Williamson, and
Kyle Reynolds.

Mr. Winton William
son, age 83, of the Blue
Ridge Community, died
on Tuesday, September 21,
2021, at Memorial Health
Meadows Hospital in Vida
lia after a brief illness.
Mr. Williamson was a
native of Toombs County,
and lived in the Blue Ridge
Community all of his life.
He was a 1955 graduate of
Lyons High School. After
graduating, he began farm
ing with his father and con
tinued to farm until 1976.
He retired after 42 years as
Vice-President of Peoples
Bank in Lyons. He was a
former long-time member
ofMt. Zion Baptist Church,
and served as deacon, trea
surer, and Sunday school
teacher. He was currently a
member of the First Baptist
Church of Lyons, where he
also served as deacon and
Sunday school teacher. He
was preceded in death by
his parents, Lee William
son, Sr., and Mary Branch
Williamson; and 1 brother,
Lee Williamson, Jr.
His family includes his
wife of 50 years, Margie
Braddy Williamson of Blue
Ridge; 2 children, Donna
R. Spikes of Blue Ridge, and
Shane Williamson and wife
Cynthia of Hawkinsville; 3
grandchildren, Jessica Wil
liamson, Gage Williamson,
and Taylor Williamson; and
several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was
held on Friday, September
24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in
the chapel of Ronald V. Hall
Funeral Home, with Pastor
Dannie Williams and Rev.
Don Paterson officiating.
Burial followed in Wilkes
Cemetery at Blue Ridge.

Mr. Greg Holmes
Mr. Greg Holmes, 58,
of Vidalia, died on Friday,
September 24, 2021, at his
home after a sudden ill
ness.
Mr. Holmes was a life
long resident of Vidalia and
a 1981 graduate of Vida
lia Comprehensive High
School. He was a pipefitter
with H.A. Sack Company
in Statesboro, and earlier
in his life, worked several
years as a meat cutter with
McLemore’s Abattoir in Vi
dalia. He was preceded in
death by his father, Henry
T. Holmes.
His family includes
1 son, Jason Holmes and
wife Rachel; his mother,
Elaine Gross Holmes; 3
siblings, Sheron Holmes
Hulett and husband Joe, all
of Vidalia, Danny Holmes
of Higgston, and Rhonda
Holmes Sheffield and
husband Dale; 3 grand
children, Abram Holmes,
Ethan Holmes, and Lilly
Holmes, all of Vidalia; and
several nephews.
The funeral service
was held on Monday, Sep
tember 27, 2021, at 2:00
p.m., in the chapel of Ron
ald V. Hall Funeral Home,
with Pastor Efton Green
officiating. Burial followed
in Pinecrest Cemetery.

Ms. Kathy McCoy
McLendon Myers, age
60, of Hazlehurst, died on
Monday, September 20,
2021, at JeffDavis Hospital
in Hazlehurst after a brief
battle with Covid.
Ms. Myers was a native
of Vidalia and was a 1979
graduate of Vidalia Com
prehensive High School.
She was a licensed practical
nurse, earning a Nursing
degree from Southeastern
Technical Institute in Vi
dalia. She nursed at Oxley
Parkin Lyons, Rogers State
Prison, worked in home
health care, and was a trav
eling nurse. She attended
the Oasis Church of God.
Preceding her in death
was her mother, Lou Ellen
Beasley McCoy; 1 brother,
Kenneth Warren McCoy;
and 1 brother-in-law, Ricky
Odom.
Her family includes 2

Mr. Bob Steransky, age
73, of the Blue Ridge Com
munity, died on Sunday,
September 19, 2021, at
Memorial Health in Savan
nah after a brief battle with
Covid.
Mr. Steransky was a
native of Wilkes-Barre,
PA, and lived there until
he moved to Tampa, FL, in
the early 1970s. He worked
with Florida Steel for 21
years until he moved to the
Blue Ridge Community in
1992, where he founded
“Mr. Bob’s Painting and
Carpentry.” He attended
East Gordon Street Baptist
Church. He was preceded
in death by his parents,
John Steransky and Mary
Reback Steransky.
His family includes

Odom, age 66, of Vidalia,
died on Thursday, Septem
ber 23, 2021, at Meadows
Regional Medical Center
following her battle with
COVID.
Ms. Odom was born
in Fayetteville, NC. She
was preceded in death by
her parents, Curtis Odom
and Hazel Collins Knight;
1 daughter, Carissa Hester;
2 granddaughters, Stevie
Shiver and Blakely Row
land; 2 grandsons, Scott
Rowland and Julian De-
vaeux; and her grandmoth
er, Ruby Collins.
Survivors include 3

Mr. Jesus “Chuy” Edu
ardo Mendoza Almeida,
age 35, from Lyons, died
Wednesday, September 22,
2021, at Piedmont Cart-
ersville Medical Center in
Cartersville after a brief
battle with COVID-19. Je
sus was born in Guanajuato,
Mexico, and moved with his
family to the United States
when he was a child. He at
tended the Toombs County
School system since 1992
and was a founding mem
ber of the Toombs County
Men’s Soccer Program be
fore earning his diploma in
2005. After high school, Je
sus attended Middle Geor
gia College to further his
education.
Jesus was passion
ate about soccer and was
an avid supporter of Club
America, Boca Juniors, and
Chelsea while also support
ing the national teams from
Mexico and Argentina. He
modeled his own playing
style after Diego Arman
do Maradona and always
looked to create opportuni
ties for others while on the
field. Jesus also had a love
of baseball and followed the
Atlanta Braves.
As a dual citizen of the
United States and Mexico,
he loved visiting his friends
and family throughout
Mexico, and it is there that
he met his future wife Rosa
lia. After marrying in 2019,
Jesus and Rosalia worked
together in the rack instal
lation industry, where he
served as a crew supervisor
and travelled throughout
the United States setting up
various stores prior to their
opening.
His surviving family
includes his wife and love
of his life, Rosalia Mendoza
Sanchez; his parents, Sil-
berio and Margarita Men
doza; five brothers, Juan
Mendoza Almeida, Fer
nando Mendoza Almeida,
Mariano Mendoza Almeida
and his wife Angela, Miguel
Mendoza Almeida and his
wife Esmeralda, and Sil-
verio Mendoza Almeida
and his wife Ana Teresa;
two sisters, Oralia Mendoza
Almeida and Senaida Men
doza Ibarra; three long-time
brothers, Chris Montes,
Benjie Taylor and his wife
Alexa, and Dr. Justin E Rus
sell and his wife Ginger;
his parents-in-law, Primo
Sanchez Carreras and his
wife Maria de Jesus Sanchez
Avalos; and several nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
A mass of Christian
burial was Saturday, Sep
tember 25, at 11:00 a.m.
at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church followed by burial
in Lyons Cemetery.
