Winder Police Department Arrests
Woman attempts to conceal
drugs in crotch of her pants
An officer with the Winder Police
Department conducted a traffic stop on E.
May Street after observing a motorist fail
to stop at the stop sign when turning onto
May Street from Jackson Street.
The female driver seemed dazed and
confused and appeared to be under the
influence of some type of drug, the report
said.
After agreeing to perform some field
sobriety evaluations, the officer deter
mined her to be under the influence of
drugs and placed her under arrest. When
asked if she had any drugs on her person,
she replied no.
Once at the detention center, a search of
her person revealed a bulge in her crotch
area and a clear baggie full of illegal nar
cotics, baggies and a straw were located.
Two plastic baggies contained one bud
each of a green leafy substance, one
baggie contained a white crystalline sub
stance, one baggie contained a half of a
pill, another baggie contained approxi
mately 20 tablets of what appeared to be
the same type pill, a red straw with resi
due and three baggies containing empty
baggies similar to what the illegal drugs
were contained in.
In addition to a driving under the influ
ence of drugs and failure to stop at a stop
sign charge, Brittany Amanda Wright, 23,
of Elder Road, Winder, was also charged
with possession of methamphetamines
with intent to distribute, possession of
marijuana with intent to distribute, pos
session of a schedule IV controlled sub
stance with intent to distribute, obstruc
tion, possession of drug related objects
and crossing the guard line of a jail with
a controlled substance.

Other arrests reported by the WPD
include:
•Clotelle Elizabeth Tomlin, 45, of
Carver Drive, Monroe; improper backing
and driving while license suspended or
revoked.
•Chet Joseph Bushey, 31, of Ryan Road,
Winder; failure to appear.
•Cordero Vasquez Glasper, 29, of Fair-
view Court, Winder; simple assault and
solicitation of sodomy.
•Michael Anthony Keller, 20, of Pleas
ant Acres, Maysville; no insurance.
•Mark P. Richards, 52, of Raleigh
Way, Bethlehem; knowingly driving a
motor vehicle with suspended, canceled
or revoked registration, no insurance
and driving while license suspended or
revoked.
•Travis James Caldwell, 39, of Har-
digree Road, Winder; tag light required
and driving while license suspended or
revoked.
•Christina Lynn Stewart, 40, of Boss
Hardy Road, Winder; felony probation
violation, possession and use of drug-re
lated objects, purchase/posses/manufac
ture/distribute or sale marijuana, posses
sion of a schedule I controlled substance
and possession of a schedule I or II con
trolled substance with intent to distribute.
A woman said some chicken nuggets
caused her to swerve on Hwy. 124 last
week.
Officers with the Braselton Police
Department stopped the vehicle for fail
ing to maintain its lane and the woman
said she swerved because she was eating
her nuggets and driving.
The smell of marijuana was coming
from the vehicle, and the woman told
officers it was hidden in the center con
sole.
She was issued a citation for the mar
ijuana.

•Phillip Hawks Elwell, 48, of Mears
Street, Winder; criminal trespass.
•Kenneth Ray Campbell, 38, of Col
ley Street, Monroe; driving while license
suspended or revoked and broken taillight
lenses.
•Mandy Nicole Brady, 28, of Martin
Luther King Jr., Drive, Winder; failure to
appear.
•Linda Michelle Lane, 44, of Lays
Court, Winder; contempt of superior
court, theft by receiving stolen property
(2 counts).
•Ana Nohelly Moreno, 20, of Monti-
cello Court, Winder; criminal trespass (2
counts) and battery/family violence (2
counts).

• Johnson Drive after a man failed to
use his turning signal.
The driver said the signal is broken.
Officers smelled marijuana and the driver
told them there was some inside the car
but he didn’t know where. It was found
in the floorboard of the vehicle.
• Hwy. 53 after a man made a left turn
from the incorrect lane. Officers smelled
marijuana but the driver denied there was
anything illegal in the car.
They searched the vehicle and found a
smoking device with what appeared to be
burnt marijuana. They also found rolling
papers and a green, leafy substance.
The Winder Police Department report
ed the following incidents:
•refusal to leave on Dreamland Court;
a female reported her ex-boyfriend was
outside her residence for an extended
period of time and had refused to leave.
•shoplifting at Dollar General in W.
Athens Street; a black male left the store
without paying for a bookbag.
•warrant arrest on Lays Court.
•warrant arrest on Martin Luther King,
Jr., Drive.
•burglary on E. Broad Street; the owner
of a rental property reported someone
had kicked in a door and entered the
residence.
•criminal trespass on Monroe Hwy.;
the rear of a business had been spray
painted with graffiti.
•traffic stop on S. Broad Street for no
insurance and suspended registration; the
driver was also charged with driving on a
suspended license.
•theft on 2nd Street; an Xbox was
reported stolen.
•theft by deception on Monroe Hwy.;
a female reported receiving a phone
call from someone claiming to be a
law enforcement officer and requesting
money to release her grandson from jail.
She complied with the request and then
received another phone call requesting
additional funds. She then reported this
to officers as a scam.
•financial transaction card theft; a
South State Bank debit card was used to
make unauthorized purchases.
•traffic stop for no insurance on E. May
Street; the driver told the officer someone
was on their way to pay the cars insur
ance at that time.
The insurance company verified that
the insurance had been paid moments
earlier. The driver was taken into custody
and arrested for driving with no insur
ance.
•damage to property on Jamie Court;
a wooden privacy gate and a vehicle
were damaged while the owner was out
of town.
•theft on Horton Street; complainant
reported a package delivered by UPS
was stolen.
•shoplifting at Dollar General on W.
Athens Street; a white male took two
monster energy drinks and ran from the
store.
•warrant arrest on Ryan Road.
•suspicious activity on Shenandoah
Court; a resident reported hearing a loud
noise and discovering a footprint on her
front door where someone had kicked it.
•traffic stop for backing down the road
way on E. May Street; the driver was
charged with driving on a suspended
license and improper backing.
Auburn Police Department arrests, incidents
Auburn Police make seven arrests
The Auburn Police department reported the following arrests:
•Celeste Faye Morales. 23, of Upland Court, Athens; probation violation.
•Shane William Reese, 25, of Regal Court, Lawrenceville; warrant arrest.
•Octavius D. Watkins, 25, of Main Street, Auburn; warrant arrest.
•Brittany Ranae Everson, 31, of Plantation Road, Winder; warrant arrest.
•Jason Randall Chance. 49, of Braselton Hwy., Dacula; driving while license sus
pended or revoked and no insurance.
•Linda Gail Campbell, no age given, of 4th Avenue, Auburn; warrant arrest.
•Jane Ann Lowers, 55, of Natasha Drive, Auburn; driving under the influence of
alcohol (DUI)/ transported to Gwinnett County Jail for the Barrow County Sheriff’s
Office.
INCIDENTS
The APD also responded to recent incidents including:
•theft on Atlanta Hwy; an employee of Ingles reported the tag stolen from their
vehicle while parked at work.
•damage to property on Saddlecreek Road; a mailbox was reported damaged,
•suspicious vehicle on Myrtle Streeet; complainant reported a pickup truck was in
front of her house on numerous occasions and the occupants were observed taking
pictures of her residence.
•damage to property on Willowgate Way; a garage door had been spray painted,
•damage to property on Willowgate Way; a mailbox had been damaged.

Deputies search for Ford Mustang
whose occupants bash mailboxes
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office
received reports on July 17 from Bethle
hem residents that reported a black Ford
Mustang traveling through the Westwood
Subdivision off Tom Miller Road had
damaged mailboxes at a dozen homes on
Blakewood Street and Blakewood Trail.
Officers did not make contact with a vehi
cle fitting the description.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the BCSO
include:
•harassment on Mt. Moriah Road.
Auburn: complainant reported getting text
messages from her estranged husband.
•fraud on Phillipsburg Drive, Winder;
Approximately $800 was taken from an
account without the owner’s consent.
•theft on Berkshire Drive. Winder; items
were reported stolen from an unlocked
vehicle parked in a garage.
•warrant service on Jaden Lane. Winder,
•traffic stop for an expired registra
tion on Christmas Avenue, Bethlehem; the
driver was issued a citation and the vehicle
was towed.
•traffic stop for speeding on Carl Bethle
hem Road, Auburn; the female driver was
arrested for driving without a valid license
and speeding.
•illegal dumping on Alsace Way,
Hoschton.
•entering auto on University Parkway;
a motorist reported leaving his broken
down vehicle parked overnight and when
he returned with a wrecker to pick it up,
he discovered someone had entered the
locked cab and stolen several items.
•domestic dispute on Karis Lane, Wind
er; a female advised her husband accused
her of cheating and an argument ensued.
She reported he tried to choke her and
she grabbed his glasses off his face in an
attempt to stop him.
The male did admit to pushing her
and was charged with simple battery and
obstruction of a law enforcement officer
for resisting arrest.
•traffic stop for speeding 64 miles per
hour in a 35 mph zone on Kilcrease Road
at Goldenrod Lane. Auburn; the driver was
arrested for driving under the influence
(DUI), failure to maintain lane, reckless
driving and speeding.
•shoplifting at Target on Loganville
Highway, Bethlehem; a black male wear
ing a red hoodie, khaki shorts and tennis
shoes removed three Fitbits, valued at
$803. from the secured racks and place
them in the front pocket of his hoodie. He
left the store without paying and left the
premises in a silver Honda.
•disturbance on Ode Peppers Road,
Winder; a daughter was upset over her
mother not letting her bring a guy over
to the residence and continued to yell and
cuss in front of juveniles. She was arrest
ed and charged with disorderly conduct.
•stolen car report on Jefferson Road,
Statham.
•traffic stop for failure to maintain lane
and falure to dim headlights on University
Parkway at Barber’s Creek Road, Statham;
the driver was also charged with DUI and
taken into custody.
•traffic stop for no insurance on Kil
crease Road, Auburn; the vehicle was
towed.
•found property on Atlanta Hwy., Wind
er; a small suitcase containing a tablet
and women’s clothing was found near the
roadway.
•damage to vehicle on University Park
way, Winder; complainant reported a metal
object fell from the vehicle driving in front
of her and caused damage to her vehicle.
•theft on Scott Drive, Winder; tools were
reported stolen from a porch.
•theft on Bee Maxey Road, Winder; a
grill was reported missing.
•suspicious person on Blueberry Lane,
Winder; a female was sitting on the steps
of a vacant house and told officers she was
dropped off at the location and wasn’t sure
where she was. A check of the female
revealed outstanding warrants for burglary
and theft by taking. She was transported to
the Barrow County Detention Center.
•custody dispute on Justin Drive, Wind
er.
•burglary on Union Grove Church Road,
Auburn.
•entering auto on Duncan Lane, Auburn,
•lost property report on Clearwater
Drive, Winder; complainant reported a
lost or stolen wallet.
•burglary on Union Grove Church Road,
Auburn; items valued at $545 were report
ed stolen.
•request for documentation on Than
Skinner Road, Winder; a female requested
documentation that her estranged husband
had cursed at her in front of their juvenile
children.
•criminal trespass on Barrow Indus
trial Parkway, Auburn; Chico’s reported
someone coming onto their property and
“cutting doughnuts’’.
•hit and run on Hwy. 82 at Holsenbeck
School Road, Winder; complainant report
ed being rear-ended by a black Honda
Accord. The driver left the scene.
•shoplifting at Walmart on Atlanta Hwy..
Winder; a female was arrested for shoplift
ing items valued at $7.21.
•theft on Christmas Avenue, Bethlehem;
the district manager of the Kangaroo store
reported two deposits missing.
•shoplifting at Walmart on Atlanta Hwy..
Winder; a female was placed under arrest
for switching a $3.78 price tag on a pair of
leggings to a $16.88 pair of leggings.
Winder Police Department incidents
Numerous guns stolen from business
On Thursday. July 21 the Winder Police Department responded to 170 W. Athens
Street in reference to an alarm going off at The Gun Room.
After observing the front of the building to be secure, the officer went around to the
back of the business and saw a broken chair lying on the ground. He could see a hole in
the side of the building.
Once a perimeter was set up by officers, the key holder was called and came to the
scene to unlock the front door so the building could be cleared of any suspects.
Upon initial inventory, the owner advised that three AK style rifles were stolen.
After a more complete inventory of items, more guns were reported missing. The bur
glary is still under investigation.
