21 st Century Partnership studies scholarship
ByRAYUGHTNER
HHJ Staff Writer
Two ideas were proposed,
to the 21st Century part
nership, during their regu
lar meeting recently, to help
the employees at Robins Air
Force Base.
Executive Director Mary
Therese Tebbe proposed a
scholarship to the member
ship.
The scholarship, funded
by annual dues ($25), Tebbe
said would be “encouraging
kids to get engaged in math
and science. I think it would
be a nice way to start off the
school year.”
Tebbe said that in the
long-term, it helps the base
replace skilled labor that is
approaching retirement age.
Nicole Katsikides, Georgia
Department of Community
Affairs regional representa
tive, had another idea. She
asked if the 21st Century
Partnership could sponsor a
job fair for lieutenants at
Robins being forced out of
the Air Force.
“I don’t know if this orga
nization can help,” she said.
