High school parking
permits go on salo

Houston County pub
lic high schools are selling
parking permits to students
this summer.
Sales beginning July 24
at Houston County, Warner
Robins and Northside
high schools and Aug. 7 at
Perry High. At the Houston
County Career & Technical
Center, parking permits are
sold once school begins at a
cost of $lO.
At Perry High School, per
mits will be sold beginning
Monday, Aug. 7, for S3O. To
purchase a permit, students
may not have any unpaid
fines and must have: cur
rent vehicle registration
card which is issued with the
vehicle’s license plate; cur
rent driver’s license; S3O in
cash, check, or money order.
At Warner Robins High
School, parking permits will
be sold July 23-26 from 8
a.m. to noon at a cost of $35.
July 24 is for seniors only,
July 25 is for seniors and
juniors only and July 26 is
open to any student.
At Houston County High
School only a limited num
ber of permits will be issued
before school begins due
to construction of the new
parking lot
After the new lot is com
pleted, additional permits
will be issued. Permits
will be sold to seniors on a
first-come, first-serve basis.
Additionally, students who
have zero period, work-out,
early release, or who attend
an off campus facility will
be allowed to purchase per

Alltel will keep is wireless
phone service,” Taylor said,
“which was not offered in
the Perry area.”
Taylor said Windstream
is looking into offering new
services, “but is not to the
point to roll out yet.”

help us ‘win’ in the market

While changing names,
Taylor said, Windstream will
be a customer and communi

At Northside High School,
parking permits will be sold
July 24-27 from 8:30 a.m.
to 2 p.m. at a cost of $32.
Applications may be picked
up in the front office from
7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
To purchase a parking space,
students must have proof of
insurance, driver’s license,
$32, and the completed
application, including par
ent’s signature.
Parking spaces are sold
on a first-come, first-serve
basis.
Spaces will not be held for
those who do not have all of
their information or for stu
dents who do not have their
permanent driver’s license.

to form the new wireline
company, Windstream Corp.,
based in Little Rock, Ark.
Windstream
Communications will pro
vide voice, broadband and
entertainment services to
customers in 16 states. The
company will have approx
imately 3.4 million access
lines and about $3.4 billion
in annual revenues, accord
ing to Alltel.
The transaction will repo
sition the remaining Alltel
as a pure-play wireless ser
vice provider with roughly
11 million customers in 34
states.
The spin-off and merger
will be tax-free stock trans
fer for Alltel and its share
holders.
Alltel shareholders will
own 85 percent of the com
