Local gymnasts earn medals

The Houston County
YMCA Gym Stars USAG
Level 7 and USAG Level 6
had a, according to a release,
“remarkable performance”
at the 2006 YMCA National
Gymnastics Championships
held in Hanover, Penn.,
recently.
More than 1,300 qualify
ing gymnasts from all over
the United States partici
pated in this “memorable
event,” said Iris Gifford.
The Houston County
YMCA Gym Stars “proudly
brought home several med
als,” Gifford said. “Every
medal beautifully com
prised each gymnast’s
tenacity, courage, discipline
and striking determination
to go beyond their goals and
dreams,” she said.

Placed second on the vault
