Suspect: I was
serving win of God
JONESBORO (AP) - One
of the suspects arrested in
the killing of a Morehouse
College student told police
he was serving the will of
God, according to police doc
uments.
Keith Jerome Roberts and
two others have been arrest
ed and charged with tortur
ing Carlnell James Walker
and leaving him locked in
the trunk of his car, where
he was found dead two
weeks later.
The two other Morehouse
students charged in the
death told police Roberts, 22,
coached them in the attack,
Clayton County police detec

Roberts’ court-appointed
lawyer, Joseph Roberto,
said he has not talked to
Roberts about his religious
affiliation, but said Roberts
“stands with God. He always
has.”
Roberto informed Clayton
County District Attorney
John Turner that he will be
having a psychiatric evalu
ation of Roberts and may
pursue an insanity defense,
Turner said.
Roberts, Miles Jonathan
Allen, 21; Breylon Wendell
Garland, 20, and Theodore
Paul Hollisman allegedly
went to Walker’s home to
rob him. Walker was try
ing to start a record label
and had told people he was
receiving a large sum of
money from an insurance
settlement, friends said.
