McDonald's pushes its McJeans Day for charity

The Ronald McDonald House of
Central Georgia recently announced
McJeans Day 2006.
The premise is for ocal compa
nies, businesses and schools to par
ticipate in the event by designating a
McJeans Day Coordinator and asking
employees to pre-purchase a specially
designed sticker and a “Friend of
Ronald McDonald House” wristband
for $5, which will entitle them to wear
casual clothes for a day.
McJeans day will take place the
week of Sept. 11-15.
According to a press release, on
the day of a company's McJeans Day,

of Central Georgia, which is located
on the corner of Forsyth and Orange
Streets in Macon.
There will be a tour of the facility
and snacks available.
Also according to a the release, a
casual day was chosen because it is
“easy and fun- and no cost to your
company.”
“Casual Days allow employees to
dress casually while raising money for
the Ronald McDonald House, a Home
Away from Home for many families
of seriously ill or critically injured
children being treated at nearby hos
pitals.”

The House is owned and operated by
the Ronald McDonald House Charities
of Central Georgia, a non-profit orga
nization which serves families of chil
dren 18 years of age or younger living
outside Bibb County being treated in
Macon Area hospitals.
The 21,000 square foot House pro
vides nearly 5,000 room nights annu
ally and is open 24 hours a day, 365
days a year.
There are 13 bedrooms, large kitch
en, dining room, family room, two
playrooms, playground, and laundry
facilities.
Guests pay sls per night, if finan
cially able and contributions and vol
unteers take care of the rest.
