Kennesaw.
The team played Grayson
(8-AAAAA), North Cobb (5-

South Cobb (4-AAAAA) and
Chattahoochee (6-AAAAA).
Their unbeaten string

“It was a little too excit

Winning pitcher Kelsey

far behind. “We got off. the
bus and played like we were

“Once we woke up, we
played well!”
The Hornets out-hit the
visiting Trojans from Macon,
but had no runs to show for
it. Audrey Clearman then
led off the seventh with a
hit, and Westfield eventually
loaded the bases. Clearman
scored the tying run on a
wild pitch.
The Hornets had a chance
to win in regulation, but had
a missed bunt opportunity
that led to a caught stealing
at third base.
The eighth inning meant
the international tiebreak
er rule (the last batter of
the previous inning starts
the eighth on second base).
Tattnall Square had its
own failure with the bunt,
which led to a strikeout. The
Hornet defense then got two
groundouts to keep it 1-1.
Westfield’s eighth start

Daryl Ann Thompson, which
moved Mason Moreland to
third base. Moreland scored
on the Jones hit.

Recalling that little bit of
information, co-owner/gen

James Hamp, said the local
squad went on the war path,
winning 22-7, Saturday
night in Phenix City, Ala.
As usual, Hamp said, the
Warriors’ defense set the
stage for some “exciting”
action and only allowed one
Falcon touchdown.
Leading the fight was
Donte Holmes with six tack

Defensive captain, Defiance

hard with five tackles and
a sack.
New to the Warriors’ ros

little time making his pres

four tackles on the evening.
