hundred thirty-seven (237) applica
tions are for callers who live or work
in Houston County. The remaining
thirteen (13) applications will be
available for the first thirteen eligible
callers that do not live or work in
Houston County.
You may obtain an appli
cation beginning on August 18,
2006, by calling the Department of
Community Affairs Office at
(478)374-6961 or toll free
(888)340-6112 and providing your
name, mailing address and social
security number. Only one applica
tion will be sent per telephone call,
and no applications will be given at
the door.
Hearing impaired appli
cants may apply for assistance by
telephoning TDD 1-800-736-1155
(Leave message. You will be con
tacted the morning of the next busi
ness day). Visually impaired appli
cants needing assistance to com
plete the application form should
make the DCA office aware of this
need at the time the application form
is requested.
Applicants already on the
waiting list need not reapply. Current
residents of public housing units and
persons on the waiting list for public
housing must make a separate ap
plication for Section 8 assistance to
be considered for the Program.
Completing the application will not
affect your status on the waiting list
for other programs.
DCA does not discrimi
nate in admission or access to its
Federally Assisted Housing Pro
grams. Any individual eligible to be
served who has visual or hearing
impairment will be provided with the
information necessary to understand
and participate in DCA's programs.
