Yes, that date is finally
here, and that means:
Perry had seven intercep
tions with three returned for
touchdowns in a 30-9 win
against Northeast-Macon.
Oh, and also:
A little thing called Warner
Robins-Northside. It went
overtime, folks. Rodrigues
threw a touchdown pass to
Nick Bass on the first Eagle
possession, while Mitchell
Bell, Eric Manns and Sam
Robinson recorded sacks
on the first Demon posses
sion to end it 20-14. Any
other big plays? How about
an interception return of 59
yards by Maurice Gray of the
Demons?
A blocked punt by Roder
ick Rose of the Demons? A
tipped field goal by Donshea
Simmons of the Eagles? And
many, many more.

of five Bear starters out for
the game due to injury.
Week U 0d 28
It was a weekend with a
playoff feel. For the second
year in a row, John Milledge
defeated Westfield to clinch
first place in Region 4-AAA.
A touchdown with 2:28 left
stretched the visitors’ lead
to the 14-3 final.
Perry, though, had bet
ter luck in securing second
place in its region with a
36-0 shutout of Southwest
in Macon. Houston County
could not find its way into
theplayoffs.Theßearsneed
ed a win at Tift County after
the back-to-back losses, but
couldn’t overcome the injury
problems in a 14-3 final.
Region 3-AAAA had its
play-in rounds for the state
tournament, and unfortu
nately Stockbridge drew
Northside. 61-13. Enough
said.
Warner Robins had its re-

vengeonthe Eagles, Eagle’s
Landing that is, 52-14.
WeeklZNev.4
Who’s still playing?
Northside would be for quite
some time as Hunter scored
five times in a 42-7 first
round win against Haralson
County. Perry High not only
won for the first time in
many years in post-season
play, but shut out the South
Effingham Mustangs in the
Panther Pit 21-0.
Westfield needed all the
weapons it could muster,
not only with Arnold ailing
but Mt. Pisgah bringing a jit
terbug in Tim Jackson down
to Marvin Arrington. The
Hornets still won big 42-19.
Who would be finished
playing? Warner Robins
found its run at a repeat
over in Douglas County after
a 24-20 defeat. The Demons
actually led 20-10 at half
time.
Weekl3.Nsv.il
How about this for a shock
er? Westfield is marching
to the semifinals as Arnold
made his way back into ac
tion and helped Zach Young

a road win over Deerfield-
Windsor in Albany. The Hor
nets won 28-14 after trailing
14-13 when the final quarter
began.
Ed Pilcher of Thomas
County Central dubbed
Northside as a state title
contender after his club fell
to the Eagles in a second
round game 14-7.
Perry, though, would have
to pack things up just like
the Demons after playing
a powerful Shaw club in
Columbus. The Panthers
fought back and dominat
ed second-half action, but
Shaw had too big a lead and
won 34-14.
Week 14, Nov. 18
Westfield couldn’t make it
2-for-2 against First Presby
terian in 2005. This time the
game was in Macon and the
GISA state finals were on the
line.
A key fumble early in the
second half got away from
the Hornets and the Vikings
recovered and drove for a
touchdown that led to a 39-
14 win.
