and fumbled it out of the
end zone.
“Everybody was calling
me, laughing at me, telling
me I’m an idiot,” Henderson
said. “It was OK. I felt bet
ter after the second time.”
Mickelson famously labeled
himself an idiot after blow
ing a win that seemed in
the bag at the U.S. Open.
Henderson followed up his
66 yard punt return with
another for 67 yards that
he held on to for a touch
down.
Henderson left the game
after the play in the 48-12
win over Western Kentucky
with an injured hamstring
and is questionable for
Saturday’s game against
South Carolina. ,He doesn’t
expect to practice until
Wednesday.
“The gameplan is to get as
much treatment as I can and
go that route the first two
days and then Wednesday
come out here and see how
I feel,” Henderson said.
“After Sunday off, just com
ing here and getting treat
ment, and (Monday) not
really doing anything but
just getting treatment, it
feels a little better. It was
sore when I was walking,
but that’s starting to go
away.”

Saturday
when he
lifted the
ball in cel-
last season except for the
49 against Arkansas, but
the Bulldogs offensive line,
which used only six schol
arship players, still had a
busy day.
“We were kind of tired,”
starting center Nick Jones
said. “We had six linemen.
Well, seven toward the end.
We had to go mainly all
the reps.” Walk-on Chris
Abbott pitched in as well
and will serve again as the
Bulldogs’ third center this
week behind Jones and
guard Fernando Velasco.
The Gamecocks aren’t
using many bodies either
up front.
In their season-opening
win over Mississippi State,
the Gamecocks’ starting
offensive line played every
offensive snap.
Coach Steve Spurrier
said this week that senior
reserve Seth Edwards
“needs to play,” and
to “look for him to play
some this week definitely.”
Coach Mark Richt called
Georgia’s running game “a
little disappointing,” after
the Bulldogs rushed for
146 yards.
“Our backs, from what
I could tell, ran the ball
pretty good,” Richt said. “I
would have liked to have
seen more space provided
for them.”
STAFFIIB IN TNI NIN:
Freshman Matthew
Stafford completed all
three passes he threw on
the 65 yard scoring drive he
directed in the fourth quar
ter, but he also scrambled
for 19 yards, the second
longest run on the team
after Danny Ware’s 41-yard
touchdown run.
“Don't look for that

anymore,” Stafford said
Monday. “I’m probably
going to get walked down
from behind. (Quarterbacks
coach Mike) Bobo definitely
alluded to that probably
not happening again and I
know it.” Stafford and red
shirt freshman Joe Cox are
competing to be the back
up behind Joe Tereshinski
Saturday.

RECNGNiniN: By Quentin
Moses standards, the senior
defensive end from Cedar
Shoals had an under-the
radar type game Saturday.
Three tackles, two and a
half tackles for loss, a sack
and three quarterback hur
ries.
It still got noticed by the
SEC, which named Moses
the conference’s defensive
lineman of the week. He
won the honor twice last
season.
Moses has 21 1/2 career
sacks, putting him sixth on
the Bulldogs’ career sack
list.
THIS MB THAT: Freshman
cornerback Prince 'Miller
practiced on Monday wear
ing a cast on his right hand.
He said the iryury happened
in Saturday’s game and the
cast was precautionary.
Georgia is a 3-point favor
ite.
