basketball registration
The Warner Robins Recreation
Department will begin basketball
registration Oct. 21. It will be
held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the
department’s office off Watson
Blvd.
Fees are as follows: $25 for
city residents, SSO for county
residents and SBS for out of
county residents.
Participants must be at least
5 by Dec. 31 in order to partici
pate in the basketball program.
Registration will continue until
filled, during regular business
hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-
Friday.

season. The cost per child is
$75.

Northside dominates Dutchtown

Dutchtown 54-0 Thursday night
at McConnell-Talbert Stadium to
improve to 5-0, 2-0

Northside went three and out to
start the game. But, Eagles quarter
back Marques Ivory jumpstarted the
team by completing five consecutive
passes for 121 yards and a toufch
down.
The Eagles led 14-0 after the first
quarter to make fans forget their
inauspicious start.
“(Dutchtown) had eight people in
the box,” said Eagles head coach
Conrad Nix. “We didn’t have much
choice but to throw the football.”
Ivory hit Nick Bass on a 28-yard
strike in the end zone for Northside’s
first score.
During that six-play 71-yard drive,
Ivory completed passes of 17, 21,
and 28 yards.
On Northside’s next possession,
Deonta Jordan scored the first of his

Bears threaten but come up short

The good news for Houston County
High’s Bears was the thrilling execu
tion of the tip drill. The bad news is
a touchdown is only worth six points,
and Houston County needed seven.

earned a much-needed
Region 4-AAA win against
the rival Trojans on the soft
ball diamond, 5-4, Thursday
at home. It avenged a region
loss in Ft. Valley on Sept.
12 and kept the Panthers in
second place in the 4-AAA
south sub-region with a 5-3
record.
When the second inning
was over, Perry had a 5-1
lead. It took a lot of pitch
ing and defensive work in
the last five innings to keep
