ANN MARIE BCQRDIA
WARNER ROBINS - Ann Marie Scordia, 64, passed
away Friday. Services will be private. Survivors include
her daughter, Charlene Whittman, granddaughter, Angela
M. Scott; both of Denver, Colo., and great grandchildren,
Vincent C. Vickery and Dean T. Scott. She was loved and
cherished and will be missed by many, especially by Fawn.

MAGGIE. RUTH DORSETT -*
Maggie Ruth Dorsett,B9, died Monday. Funeral Services
will be held at 3 p.m. today at Crosspoint Baptist Church in
Perry with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family received friends Tuesday at the home of
Ralph and Joan Dorsett, *llOO Ridge Circle South. The
family requests donations to Hospice of Houston County,
103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Born in
Peach County, she spent most of her life in Houston County,
She was the daughter of the late Jake and Ruth (Howard)
Sledge. She, along with her husband of 55 years, Marvin
Dorsett, who died in 1989, was a founder of Crestview
Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for 55 years
and was a president of the WMU. She was also a member of
the UDC, the Home Demonstration Club, and the Georgia
Homemaker of the Year through the Georgia Extension
Service. Survivors include her children; Sally D. Bazemore
(Ken) of Byron, Ralph Dorsett (Joan) of Perry, and Jimmy
Dorsett (Brenda) of Norcross; Grandchildren, William
Dorsett, Mark Dorsett, Mike Dorsett, April Foster, Andy
Dorsett, Anne Dorsett, Abby Dorsett-Victor, Britt Bazemore
and Brandi Bazemore; nine Grandchildren; daughter-in
law, Nancy Dorsett Wadsworth (Ray) of Arley, Ala.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kemp Dorsett; grand
son, Rad Dorsett; siblings, Carvis Sledge, Mae Wiley, Lloyd

KATHLEEN - Ray Wheelus, 80, died unexpectedly at his
residence Sunday. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m.
today at the First Baptist Church of Bonaire with inter
ment in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The fam-

Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place,
Memphis, TN 38105. Visitation was

Home. Wheelus, a lifelong resident
of Houston County, was the son of the
Daniel B. and Ethel (Stubbs) Wheelus.

A U.S. World War II
Army Air Corp Veteran, he was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Bonaire and the Peace Officer’s Association of
Georgia. He was the former warden for the Houston County
correctional facility. Wheelus had a lifelong love of fishing,
especially in the Ocmulgee River. Survivors include his wife
of 59 years, Myra Andrew Wheelus of Kathleen; daughter,
Miriam W. Mizell (M.L.) of Kathleen; grandchildren, John
Nathan Pender, Jay Blair Fox and Jaime Rae Fox, all of
Warner Robins; great grandchildren, Cameron Gage Pender
and Heather Rae Fox. He was preceded in death by a son,

KATHLEEN - Cleo V Bloodworth, 82, passed away
Monday. Visitation was Tuesday at McCullough Funeral
Home with services to be held at 11 a.m. today at Memorial
Heights Baptist Church, Perry. There will be a reception
in the fellowship hall at the church following the ser
vice. Interment will follow in Perry Memorial Gardens.
