possessions. By then the half
was winding down and in
fact the Packers added their
second score with just 2:10
left before the break.
The Demons, taking the
ball on the 32 following that,
scored their touchdown of
the first half - an 18-yard
Antwan Hamilton run - with
23 seconds left to play. David
Clark booted the point after
to make it 14-7.
Sounds like things were
getting better. Right?
Nope. The Packers took
the kickoff to open the third
quarter and went 48 yards
to score again. That made
it 21-7, not an insurmount
able deficit - especially with
almost two quarters still left
to play. But, Warner Robins,
on a completed pass, fumbled
again. The Packers recov

They couldn’t turn that
into a touchdown but they
did get a field goal out of it to
make it 24-7 with 6:02 left in
the quarter.
The Demons, after a Laron
Scott return, took over at
their own 40. Wright hit
Antwan Hamilton on the
first play from scrimmage
for 28 yards and then it was
fumbled again.
Scott ended that threat
with an interception and
even better, Warner Robins

was able to turn that into a
score.
That made it 24-14 with
3:04 left in the quarter. The
Demons gave up a first down
but then forced Colquitt
County to punt after that.
Warner Robins, by then in
the fourth quarter, took over
and ... fumbled.
The Packers again recov
ered. The Demons held,
forced Colquitt County to
punt yet again, and then ...
were intercepted.
They forced the Packers
to punt again. This time
Warner Robins held onto the
ball but - figuring it was time
to go for it on fourth down
- stalled. Colquitt County
nearly scored again following
that but were stopped on the
1 on fourth down.
