RFCU sponsors volunteer week
Special to the Journal
Robins Federal sponsored
a volunteer week at the
Ronald McDonald House in
Macon Oct. 16-19 in con
junction with the 365 Days
of Caring Program.
During that time, they
had more than 68 employee
volunteers to help around
the house with the following
activities: Cleaning, dusting,
organizing, painting/paint
ing touchups in hallways and
the conference room, paint
ing - second coat/painting
touchups/plavground plant
ing and playground clean
up.
Since opening, the Ronald
McDonald House of Central
Georgia has welcomed more
than 1,100 families who
have come to Macon to find
help for their seriously ill
or critically injured children
who are patients in local
hospitals.
The Ronald McDonald
House is a special haven, pro
viding a calm place to sleep,
shower, launder clothes and
unwind.
Even more importantly, it
is a place where anguished
families can find refuge
encouragement and suste
nance.
Through direct financial
support or other in-kind con
tributions to local organiza
tions, and by participating
in public service activities,
Robins Federal is an active
partner in our community.
We recognize that practicing
good Citizenship supports
the Credit Union Philosophy
of “People Helping People.”
Further-more, it helps to
raise the overall level of
social and economic well
being of those in our com
munity, help to strengthen
community ties, and better
position us to serve those
people in greatest need of
affordable financial services.
