HOW 10..
The appearance of your clothing reflects your image
WHAT IS DRV CLEANING?
Dry cleaning began in ancient times, using lye. ammonia and clay. The first dry cleaning plant
opened in Paris in the 1840's when a petroleum-type fluid was accidentally spilled on a greasy fab
ric and the stain disappeared. The dry cleaning process is not dry. but does not use water. Perchloro
ethylene (perc, the most common dry cleaning fluid), petroleum, CO2. and Green Earth are current
solvents. These solvents are essential in dry cleaning to remove soils and stains from fabrics. They
have the ability to dissolve grease that is not possible in home laundry. This process is not harmful
to your clothing and will actually extend the life of your garment versus laundry. A facial tissue that
is cleaned in a dry cleaning machine will look like it has never been used versus the shredded parts
left after home laundry.
Your garments are placed in a sophisticated machine that cleans and dries in the same unit. Sol
vent is circulated in the machine during the cleaning process. These fluids are filtered and distilled.
Unfiltered solvent will result in a garment that is not clean. Proper drying temperatures remove the
solvent from the garments. An environmentally safe cleaning machine is a must in today's ecosys
tem. Ask your dry cleaner about their cleaning techniques and perhaps take a plant tour.
FABRICARE PROCESS
When bringing your garment to your dry cleaner it is helpful for you to identity known stains and
needed repairs. Discuss any special requests with the counter service representative. Your garments
are properly marked in order to identify each item of an order. A professional dry cleaning plant
requires a competent stain removal specialist. Your garments are pretreated and specialized spotting
techniques are applied prior to cleaning. Efficient and safe stain removal has four elements: fabric
classification, stain identification, knowledge of stain removal chemicals, and safe procedures to
remove these stains. Stains, such as ink, lipstick, coffee, wine, mustard and ketchup, to name a few,
require the expertise of a stain removal specialist. Do not accept a sorry tag on your garment; obtain
a second opinion. A professional cleaner classifies garments according to fabric content, color, type,
and drying temperatures for proper dry cleaning.
After cleaning, your garment is inspected before going to the finishing department. The pressing
technicians, using special pressing equipment, enhance the outward appearance of your garment.
Sophisticated pressing machines produce results that cannot be achieved at home, such as intricate
details, pleats, puff sleeves, and firm creases. After every step your garment is inspected for the
highest standard of excellence. There can never be too many inspections of your garment in a qual
ity plant. Extras such as sweater brushing, button replacement and packaging embellishments add to
the professionally finished product. The spotless and exceptionally pressed garment is packaged and
ready for you on the day requested.

- Certified Environmental Dry Cleaner
- Clean and organized dry cleaning plant with helpful and friendly staff
Quality and value is what you must expect from your dry cleaner. Value is provided to the customer
through quality work and excellent customer service. Do not choose a dry cleaner solely on price.
Assess your dry cleaner for additional services such as: alterations, laundry, drapery, storage, leather
and suede, pillow reticking, wedding dress restoration and preservation, and special enhancements
for silk and linen.
Garments are expensive and proper dry cleaning procedures will extend the life of your garments.
Be sure your dry cleaner meets or exceeds the qualifications; do not settle for less. Proper stain
removal is an art.
important Points
