Game 1
The Troup Tiger offense
showed Perry what the Crisp
County team must have felt
when the Panthers made
short work of the Cougars in
the first round opener. Only,
to start the second round
best-of-3, Troup, the third
place team from Region 2-
AAA, did it with a lot more
extra-base damage.
In fact, to get 16 runs over
five innings, the hosts had
just 10 hits. Three of those
hits left the stadium, and
three others were doubles.
But Perry took its turn
first as the true visiting
team. Kinnas had a one-out
single in the top of the first,

jumped on his first offering
for a two-run home run.
Troup pitcher Jordan
Beistline struck out the
side in that same inning, all
three whiffs called looking.
He would throw the next
three innings with three
more strikeouts and one
more run allowed in the top
of the third. Kinnas doubled
and Taylor singled with one
out, and deYampert drove in
his third run of this game
with a hit.
But the Tigers were com
fortably ahead 10-2 after
two innings. They scored
four in the first on two hits
and two walks. Drew Dukes
followed both walks and two
stolen bases with a two-run
hit, and he scored on a Luke
Bailey home run.

ond inning totaled six runs
on five hits, all with two
outs. There was a one-out
walk, and Lawrence Jackson
brought that runner in with
a two-out single. Next came
a Beistline RBI double, a
two-run homer by Dukes
and a double by Bailey that
started a rally for two more
runs.
The third inning was more
of the same, six runs on just
three hits, two walks and an
error fielding a bunt. It was
that miscue that put Troup
up 11-3. Beistline and Bailey
each doubled in a run, and
the third home run went to
Phillips.
Panther Matt Phillips got

it without either one. I’m
just honored to be a part
of it.”
