77>e Phoenix Center Community Service Board presented its annual employee recogni
tion awards recently. They were awarded to, from left: Rosetta Anderson, Alma Colbert
and Alice Avant. The recipients of the awards, according to a release, were nominated
by their peers and were selected by members of the Community Service Board. The
awards, which have been presented to Phoenix Center employees for the past 16 years,
are designed to recognize employees who have shown exceptional commitment to
tfieir Job and have made an effort to go the extra mile, the release reads.

Com South to offer ‘Glitch
Guys’ IT service for businesses

Com South will begin
offering computer and net
work repair, maintenance
and support services for
area businesses beginning
July 9, according to an
announcement this week
by company president Bob
Krueger.
Com South has purchased
Tech Know, a local comput
er services firm, and former
owner Mike Baker and tech
nician, Daniel Garbisch,
will join Com South to pro
vide services in the Perry-
Unadilla-Marshallville-
Pinehurst areas.
“We are delighted that
Mike and Daniel have
agreed to join us,” said
Krueger. “They know the
local market very well, and
they already have rela
tionships with many busi
nesses in the area. By join
ing Com South, Mike and
Daniel can expand the ser
vices they offer their pres
ent customers, and together
we can support many more
companies in the area.”
In addition, Com South
has purchased Peach
Computers in Hawkinsville,
another local computer
services firm, and former

for remote access, router
configuration, backup sys
tems, VPNs, applications,
databases, and wireless
access. The Glitch Guys
will also handle hardware
repairs, including some
printers, and provide gener
al Information Technology
(IT) consulting.
“In recent months, many
businesses in the Perry
area have asked Com South
to provide computer, net
work, and related IT ser
vices,” Krueger explained.
“We are pleased to answer
that demand by combining
the talent and experience
of Mike Baker and Daniel
Garbisch with the depth of
capabilities offered by the
technical and customer ser
vice staffs at Com South.”

ACADEMY - The Warner
Robins Police Department
is hosting a Youth Police
Academy July 10-26 at
the Police Department
Training Complex. Classes
will be every Tuesday and
Thursday morning from 1-
5 p.m. A graduation lunch
will be held July 26 with
family and officers. Class
instruction includes the
hiring process, commu
nications (with a visit to
the 911 Center), criminal
and drug investigations,
crime scene investigations
use of force and firearms.
The class is for students
ages 15-17. Participants
must have waiver signed
by a parent or guardian.

machine, business people
can speak with a Com South
customer service represen
tative in person.”
Com South will also
offer a “drop-off” service,
Baker added. Customers
can drop off equipment at
Com South’s office in Perry
and explain problems in
person.
Com South’s Glitch Guys
will offer discounted annu
al service contracts as well
as non-contracted service
calls, Krueger said. “Our
intention is to provide the
best, most competitive com
puter service plans in the
market,” he said. “We’ll
definitely beat the rates
offered by those national
retailers.”
