IS LEUKEMIA TREATABLE?
Treatment for leukemia does
exist, but the treatment depends
on both the type of leukemia and
when the leukemia is diagnosed.
Treatment of leukemia usually
involves chemotherapy and possibly
radiation treatments. Chemotherapy
attempts to destroy the cancer cells
by traveling through the body,
destroying both targeted cancer cells
and even those not targeted. Taken
orally, intravenously or even injected
into a muscle, chemotherapy can be
a long process and one that leaves
patients feeling exhausted after each
session.
A standard treatment for many
forms of cancer, radiation therapy
involves the use of X-rays to destroy
cancer cells. Sometimes, radiation
therapy is used in combination with
chemotherapy.

Stress Management Tip
For every one hour of work, take a
five minute break and stretch, walk, or
meditate. With just a few minutes of
relaxation (or doing something other
than work), youlll increase your physical
activity as well as productivity and feel
better through out the day.

Weight Training Tip
If you are- looking for a slimmer
waistline, avoid training your abs with
heavy loads. You should shoot for a weight
that you can achieve at least 15 repetitions
per set. Between sets, keep your rests to
60 seconds or less. You can also use your
own bodyweight as resistance. Make sure
to concentrate on contracting your abs on
each repetition.

October 2007. Recognizing consumers’ heightened concerns
with fighting this disease, the brand developed Pink Ribbon

Skin Car* Tip *
Protect your skin from the sun with
a block that screens both UVB and UVA
light. Make sure your sunscreen contains
both titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
Sunblock manufacturers went ballistic
about popular ingredients avobenzone or
Parsol 1789 when it was discovered that
the chemical deteriorates in sunlight.
There is no perfect sunblock, but wearing
any lotion with a SPF of 15 to 30 is still
effective.
