■ WRLT AUDITIONS -
Warner Robins Little Theater
will be holding auditions for
its third show of the 2007-08
season Monday and Tuesday,
at 7:30 p.m., at the theater in
Warner Robins. It is located
at 502 South Pleasant Hill.
The play is entitled:
Murder’s Bad But Monday
Can Kill You, a farce by Pat
Cook, Dramatic Publishing
Company, and directed by
Jerry Reppert. The script
calls for a cast of five men
and five women. Play dates
are slated for: Nov. 2-3, 8-10,
15-17 at 8 p.m.

DAYS - Fort Valley State
University’s Office of
Admissions will host its annu
al Fall Preview Days Sept.
29, and Oct. 27, from noon-4
p.m. High school juniors and
seniors, with their families
and friends are invited to visit
the campus and stay for a
football game.
Prospective students will

first hand what FVSU has tp
offer. They will meet FVSU
President Larry E. Rivers,
faculty, staff, and current

Styers makes it through BMT

Air Force Airman Ist
Class Craig J. Styers has
graduated from basic mili
tary training at Lackland
Air Force Base, San
Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of
training, Styers studied the
Air Force mission, organiza
tion, and military customs
and courtesies; performed
drill and ceremony marches,
and received physical train
ing, rifle marksmanship,
field training exercises, and

Navy Seaman Recruit
Robert A. Levar, son of
Peggy S. Barton of Siloam
Springs, Ark. and Robert
C. Levar of Warner Robins,
recently completed U.S.
Navy basic training at
Recruit Training Command,
Great Lakes, 111.
During the eight-week
program, Levar completed
a variety of training which
included classroom study
and practical instruction on
naval customs, first aid, fire
fighting, water safety and
survival, and shipboard and
aircraft safety. An emphasis
was also placed on physical
fitness.
The capstone event of boot
camp is “Battle Stations”.
This exercise gives recruits
the skills and confidence
they need to succeed in the
fleet. “Battle Stations” is
designed to galvanize the
basic warrior attributes of
sacrifice, dedication, team
work and endurance in each
recruit through the practi
cal application of basic Navy
skills and the core values
of Honor, Courage and
Admissions counselors will
be available to discuss the
application process. A tour of
the campus, including a visit
to the new Wildcat Commons
housing village, is scheduled.

Dog Obedience Class will be

The cost is SSO for the 10-
week course. Dogs must be
at least 6 months old, but,
according to a release, you
should not bring the dog to
registration.

Elementary School Council

Mario D. Ponsell has graduated from
the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps
Leader Development and Assessment
Course, also known as “Operation Warrior
Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. The
ROTC cadet has been commissioned as a
second lieutenant in the Army.
The 33 days of training provide train
ing and evaluation for all cadets in the
aspects of military life, administration and
logistical support. Although continued mili
tary training and leadership development
is included in the curriculum, the primary
focus of the course is to develop and evalu

The cadet command assesses each cadet’s
performance and progress in officer traits,
qualities and professionalism while attend
ing. Cadets in their junior and senior year
of college must complete the leadership
development course. Upon successful com
pletion of the course, the ROTC program,
and graduation from college, cadets are
commissioned as second lieutenants in the
U.S. Army, National Guard, or Reserve. He
is the son of David E. and Marcia E. Ponsell
of Enchanted Oaks, Bonaire and is a 2004
graduate of Warner Robins High School.
