The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Houston
Lake Apartment Community. They recently held their grand opening of the luxury
apartments on Houston Lake Road across the street from the Houston Lake Country
Club. The Owner, Mr. Ingram, was joined by elected officials, family, friends, staff,
Perry Chamber Board members and ambassadors.
Police arrest armed robbery suspect

Uniformed officers of
the Warner Robins Police
Department were dis
patched to the Taco Bell
located at 829 Russell
Parkway at approximately 8
a.m. Sunday.
According to a police
report, the 911 call was
received in reference to an
armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, officers met
with the assistant manager
who reportedly said that a
black male had robbed the

The Georgia Department
of Labor reported this past
week that the unemploy
ment rate in the Middle
Georgia area, which includes
Houston County, declined to
4.6 percent in August, down
four-tenths of one percent
from 5.0 percent in July.

and then reportedly struck

in the top of the head. The
suspect then fled, on foot,
out of the rear of the store.

Marlon Terrell Jackson, was
then arrested and charged
with armed robbery. The

report, were minor, and she
was expected to be treated
and released.

a curve on Grovania Road, he
lost control of the vehicle and
the vehicle left the roadway.
Huckaby, who was asleep
in the backseat, was ejected
from the vehicle and suffered
several traumatic injuries.
Williams, riding in the front
passenger seat, had injuries
that included a broken pelvis
and broken ribs.
Friends of the three
men arrived on the scene
and administered CPR to
Huckaby, but attempts to
revive him were unsuccess
ful and he was pronounced
dead on the seen.
Sinyard appeared dazed
and belligerent. He told wit
nesses that the victim was
merely sleeping and inter
fered with other’s attempts
2 jailed over taxicab robbery

Houston County Sheriffs
Office patrol units were dis
patched to an attempted
armed robbery at 118 Sherry
Lane in Warner Robins
Thursday at 1:44 a.m.
According to a police report,
units arrived on scene to dis
cover that two black males
had attempted to rob the
driver of a taxicab.
Members of the Warner
Robins Police Department
observed a juvenile near the
crime scene and detained
him within 10 minutes of
the call without incident.
The juvenile, who is 16, is
currently being held at the
Crisp County Regional Youth
Detention Center.
The Houston County
Sheriffs Office Criminal
Investigation Division and
the Houston County Sheriff’s
Office Juvenile Investigation
Division also arrested 20-
year-old Dartez Trawann
Walker of Corinth Street in
Warner Robins.
He is being charged with
Criminal Attempt to Commit
Armed Robbery, and is cur

interference with EMT’s
attempts to save Huckaby’s
life, he was detained in a
patrol car. Once authorities
learned he was the driver of
the SUV he was arrested for
vehicular homicide.
At the time of the incident,
Sinyard’s driver’s license
was suspended for a previous
DUI in Houston State Court,
and he was on probation for
a previous driving on sus
pended license charge. Once
he made bond, he was sent
back to jail after he violated
the terms of his house arrest
by smoking marijuana.
“There were no winners
today or back on Nov. 5,
2006,” Burke said. “The com
munity lost a fine young man
in Joey Huckaby and now
the family of Alan Sinyard
will miss him for the next 10
years as well.
