Warner Robins cross country teams sweep region
Special to the Journal
Blue balloons turned out
to be pretty appropriate in
summing up Tift County
and the rest of Region 1-
AAAAA’s mood following
the region tournament held
Wednesday in Valdosta.
The balloons were pre
sumably held in waiting for
the anticipated Blue Devils’
region title. They will have
to wait at least one more
year, and in fact, crimson
red would have been a more
appropriate celebration color
considering the fact Warner
Robins swept both the girls’
and boys’ division.
Not only that, but the

In 2007, Houston County High foot

It wasn’t that Valdosta was a terrible

What goes faster than a 95 mph fast

High School has its way. The first
will be its girls and boys swim teams when
season competition for them begins (their
first meet is slated for Nov. 30 but they began
practicing Oct. 22).
The second is baseballs autographed by

Head Coach Jamey Richardson, “for competi

League Tournament play balls.
How it works, Richardson explained is as fol
lows: Persons or businesses may submit bids
via e mail at hocowortd@bellsouth.net from
now until midnight Nov. 16. “Representatives
must provide a stated bid amount per ball,
name, e-mail, and a phone number so they
may receive contact information if the bid is a
winning one.”
After the bid window is closed, he said, the
highest 50 bids will be assessed, and those
persons will be contacted to pay for and
receive their ball.

Bulldogs serve up
some 'Te-bown'
Too bad. I hear from one
of my favorite sources up
north that the “What’s
Wrong With Georgia Football”
committee called off this week’s
meeting (Thanks Pop).
I had some good Gator steak all
ready to serve up.
Mmmmmmmm ... Gator steak!
What kind of
steak you ask?
Why, Te-bown,
of course.
And those new
Gator boots will
soon be ready.
Pretty tough
talk for only
three wins in
the last 18 years
of the Georgia-
Florida series, don’t you think?
I prefer to look at it as two wins
in the last four years, or 1-0 in
games the year after Florida wins
the first BCS title game.
How did Georgia finally win this
time? Quite easy: the Bulldogs
