“I asked the clerk if the
ticket said what I thought
it said, and then I drove to
meet my boyfriend,” she said.
“I was screaming the whole
way for about 30 minutes.”
According to Winter, 38,
she plans to purchase a new
home, a new car, a Harley-
Davidson and some new
clothes. She also said she will
pay bills and take a European
vacation.

Lawrence Edward Cassey
Lawrence Edward Cassey, 89,
of St. Augustine, Fla. passed
away Oct. 28, 2007. Cassey was
born in Conway, Missouri and
lived for 33 years in Perry. He
moved here from St. Augustine
in 1999. He passed away at Earl
B. Hadlow Center of Hospice in
Jacksonville, Florida. He was a
member of Ancient City Baptist
Church and worked for the
U.S. Government as an aircraft
mechanic. He also served in the
Army Air Corp prior to WWII.
Visitation was held on Oct. 30
at Ancient City Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held that
same day at Ancient City Baptist
Church with Reverend Dr. David
Rice officiating. Burial was at
The mausoleum at St. Augustine
Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of
46 years, Gloria Woolsey Cassey;
sons, Martin E. Cassey of Ponte
Vedra Beach, Fla.; Harold Soles
of Sevierville, Tenn.; daugh
ters, Anne Owens of Pawley’s
Island, S.C. and Melanie Doman
of Flowery Branch, Georgia; six
grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.

Jennifer Moreton Collins
TIFTON - Jennifer Jean
Moreton Collins, 36, of Tifton,
died Tuesday, October 30, 2007,
at Tift Regional Medical Center of
natural causes.
Funeral services were
held Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at
Northside Baptist Church in Tifton
with Dr. Fred Evers and Rev.
Jason Milsaps officiating. Burial
will follow in Oakridge Cemetery.
Mike Hall, Wayne Purvis, Ron
Fritz, Brian Hinz, lan Hinz, and
Roy Myers will serve as pallbear
ers. The faculty and staff of Matt
Wilson and G. O. Bailey Schools
and the staff of Body Works will
serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Collins was born May 19,
1971, in Moline, 111., to Edwin Allen
Moreton of Mt. Dora, Fla., and
Delores Jean “Dee" Lawrence
of Perry, both of whom survive.
She was preceded in death by a

She had lived in Tifton for
15 years where she was a
schoolteacher at Matt Wilson
Elementary School. She gradu
ated from Perry High School,
class of 1989, and Georgia
Southwestern University. She
enjoyed scrapbooking, garden
ing, home improvements, and
she loved cats. Mrs. Collins
was an aerobics instructor and
enjoyed working out. She previ
ously had taught at G. O. Bailey
Elementary School.
She attended Northside Baptist
Church in Tifton and St. Patrick's
Catholic Church in Perry.
In addition to her parents, Mrs.
Collins is survived by her hus
band, Kelley C. Collins of Tifton;
her step-mother, Jean Moreton
of Mt. Dora, Fla.; a step-son,
Sean Collins of Ty Ty; two sisters
and two brothers-in-law, Jodi and
Brian Hinz of Perry and Angela
and David Silva of North Port,
Fla.; nieces and nephews, Kala
Dunn, lan Hinz, Jessica Rowe,
Amber, David, and Autumn Silva,
Brooke and Hannah Collins, and
Colin Williamson; great-nephews,
Jordan Dunn and Jacob Rowe;
her in-laws, Ruthie C. Collins
and Sherwood and Dee Dee
Collins, all of Tifton; brothers-in
law and sisters-in-law, Lee and
Julie Collins of Thomasville, Jay
Collins of Tifton, and Christy and
Casey Williamson of Tifton.
In lieu of flowers, donations

Relay for Life or Northside Baptist

siblings died Sunday, Oct. 28,

Skip Holmes
WARNER ROBINS - Skip
Holmes, 66, passed away on
Monday, Oct. 29, 2007. Mr.
Holmes was born on July 22,
1941 in Mobile, Alabama. Skip
was gifted with a distinctive voice
which led to a successful career
as a DJ in several cities. In the
last 18 years, he became well
known to radio listeners in Middle
Georgia where he worked for sev
eral local stations, most recently
WNNG AM 1350. He left that
position last year to become the
Director of the Houston County
Certified Literate Community
Program.
His parents, Semer Clark
Holmes, Jr. and Betty S. Holmes,
preceded him in death.
Survivors include three chil
dren. A memorial service will be
held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 3,2007 in
the chapel of McCullough Funeral
Home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
