Geographic Information
Systems Day at Mercer
University Nov. 10.
Dr. Karim,
Assistant Professor
of Environmental
Sciences, whose stu
dents presented proj
ects using GIS, gave the
high school students an
overview of GIS and its
application.
Afterward, the high
school students were
given portable GIS units
to use during a treasure
hunt on Mercer’s cam
pus. The day was spon
sored in part by Tetra
Tech and coordinated
by JaLynn Hudnall,
Marketing Outreach
for Tetra Tech.

Fair projects

Kings Chapel Elementary students in Brenda Bullard’s
class, according to a release, captured the excitement
of the Georgia National Fair recently by designing and
building their own fair project. The variety of projects
included: Rides, booths, petting zoos, a scare crow and
haunted house. Students pictured holding their projects
