On our first night, First United
Methodist of Americus fed us. We
slept in the First Baptist Church of
Americus. At First Baptist Church
of Americus, the Pastor, Robert L.
Whitmire, came by and checked room
by room - Are you okay? First Baptist
of Perry made us breakfast, lunch,
and supper - every day. This group
was lead by Riley Hunt and Chef
Charlie led food preparation. As to the
work, Jody Wade of UMCOR orches
trated groups from different places and
managed multiple projects in different
stages. If the Ed Sullivan show made
a come back, Jody could perform as
a juggler.

2007 and daily, they were still getting
up and going to bat. I’m retired from
the military and industry. I know that
somebody pays for everything. The
members of the local Churches paid
for utilities and our food. People all
over the country donated to UMCOR.
It would be great for all your readers
to know that the churches in your area
