Johnny Gayton deadlifts 460 pounds during the lifting competition held in Warner Robins
Feb. 9.
Gayton breaks more records
Special to the Journal
After an extremely successful 2007, the
new year has started out with a bang for
Middle Georgia’s powerlifting eye surgeon, Dr.
Johnny Gayton.
On Jan. 22 he taught a standing room only
course in Hawaii dealing with techniques that
he has developed to improve the results of
cataract surgery. According to a release, he
then immediately flew to Utah, where he was
named “speaker of the day” for his talk on
enabling cataract patients to see better with
out glasses following surgery.
Eyesight Associates’ results with improving
vision have been so good that, according to
the release, he is scheduled to speak in China,
Greenville, Miami, Vegas and at Niagra Falls
over the next few weeks.
You might think because of such a busy
schedule lecturing and taking care of patients,
he has let the weightlifting slide. Nothing
could be further from the truth. On Feb. 9 in
Warner Robins he broke two Georgia deadlift
records and won two first place trophies.
