Local Red Cross Chapter Announces
2008 “Heroes of Middle Georgia" Recipients

lion people volunteer for the
American Red Cross, and
volunteers make up 97%
of all American Red Cross
staff. An additional 40,000
nurses assist in all our lines
of service in a wide variety
of capacities. Our volunteers
come from all walks of life,
and over 40% of our volun
teers are people under the age
of 25.

of Middle Georgia” celebra
tion hosted by the Houston-
Middle Georgia Chapter of
the American Red Cross.
The 2007 event took place in
August but, the now annual
event, was moved to March
to coincide with National Red
Cross Month.
The event begins at 6 p.m.
