McNeal Insurance Agency is celebrating 40 years in business. The agency started in 1968 with one employee
and one policy. They currently have 25 employees and write more than 8,000 policies for customers throughout
Georgia and the Southeast. The main office is located at 1717 Russell Parkway in Warner Robins and a branch
office on Highway 49 in Byron. McNeal Insurance Agency is an independent insurance agency representing
many insurance companies and specializing in business, home, auto, bonds, health and employee benefits
insurance.
MGTC elects two to board of directors

The Middle Georgia
’Technical College Board of
Directors has elected new
officers for 2008-2009. Dollie
Horton of Fort Valley has
been named chair and Tom
McMichael of Warner Robins
will serve as
vice-chair.
Horton,
who is
recently
retired as
the Public
Service
Center
Director
for Fort
Valley State
University,
has been
a partner
with Middle
'Georgia
Technical
College for
many years
and has
served on
the Board

is a certified board member
by the Techhical College
Directors Association and
has worked with the MGTC
Adult Education program
in Peach County. She also
currently serves on the
MGTC Foundation Board of
Trustees.
She began her career
with FVSU in the areas of
Development and College
and Community Relations.
She later moved on to work
with Warner Robins Air
Logistics Center at Robins
Force Base in 1980. In 1982,
she became the first black
female Georgian to own
and operate a radio station,
WXKO.
After returning to FVSU in
1999, she supervised over $3
million in funding from the
United States Department
of Agriculture as the Public
Service Center Director. She
also garnered and managed
over $1.5 million in grant
funding from other agencies
to provide day-to-day opera
tion for public service, com
munity and academic out
reach, housing, and economic
development.
Horton serVes as a com
missioner sot the City of
Fort Valley Utilities and
was chosen as a Presidential
Elector for the State of
Georgia. Shfe is married
to Cornelious Horton, Jr.
They have two sons and two
grandchildreii.
McMichael, who has served
on the MGTC Board of
Directors since 2005, is also
a certified board member. He
retired as City President of
Bank of America and has
over 40 years of experience
in the banking industry. He
also served his country for
six years in the Army, active
duty, and in the Reserves.
He currehtly serves as a
Commissioner for Houston
County and is chairman of
Anniversary celebration
the Middle Georgia Regional
Development Corporation.
He is a founding director
of Atlantic Southern Bank
and chairman of ASB’s
Mid-South Region Board.
He also serves on the
boards of the 21st Century
Partnership, the Association
of County Commissioners of
Georgia, the Middle Georgia
Community Action Agency,
and the Museum of Aviation,
among others.
In the past, he has also
served as president of the
Association of County
Commissioners and chair
man for the United Way and
the Warner Robins Chamber

Peach, and Pulaski.
This group, known as the
Local Board, assists MGTC’s
governing board, the State
Board of the Technical
College System of Georgia.
