Perry High School and Perry Middle School installed officers for their Future Business Leaders of America chapters during an Officer Installation Ceremony recently. The cer
emony was held at The Swanson in Perry. The officers and their positions for this school year for Perry Middle School are: Triston Tackett, President; Tiana Robinson & Jessica
Swartz, Vice President; Kayla Malone, Reporter; Piper Hutchinson, Secretary; and Macy Catlett, Historian. The Perry High School FBLA officers are: Brittany Bryan, President;
Al Hall and Taleesa Davis, Vice President; Jessica Holmes, Secretary; Kelley Le, Treasurer; Megan Brown, Mandy Hinson and Courtney Walden, Reporters; Jasmine Lawson,
Parliamentarian; and Chayla Bryant and Kristin Meadows, Historians. The FBLA advisers are Angie Birdsong and Sherry Johnson.

North side High School’s Junior Optimists worked at Mossy Creek Oct. 18 and 19 selling pork skins for the
Warner Robins Noon Optimists. Monies raised go to fund the Noon Optimist Scholarships, Junior Optimist club
dues, and the Optimist Student of the Month program. Junior Optimists work to improve the lives of children
and teens in our community. The NHS Junior Optimists are already planning to participate in their next event,

Pork skins for a cause
make one more attempt to capture
the grand prize this Saturday at the
Eagle’s Nest Invitational at Collins
Hill High School in Gwinnett County.
“There’s a subjective element in
the judging,” said Shaw, who some
times serves as a judge himself. “So
maybe this next group will give us
the edge.”

won the Grand Championship at the
Heart of Georgia Marching Band
Invitational at HoCo’s home field,
McConnell -Talbert Stadium.

Northside High School
sophomore Jaye Tignor,
according to a release, has
been selected for the State
Superintendent of Schools
student advisory council.
Approximately 700 high
school students from across
Georgia applied.
Tignor was one of only 55
selected. The first meeting
was held Oct. 20.
Student advisory coun
cil members, according to
the release, are chosen by
a committee of Georgia
Department of Education
representatives based on
applicants’ responses to
questions.
The student advisory
council will discuss how deci
sions made at the state level
affect students throughout
Georgia. Members meet
four times throughout
the school year with State
Superintendent of Schools
Kathy Cox and are advi
sors who serve as liaisons
between the Department of
Education and the students
of Georgia.
