BCSO Incident Reports
Theft by taking and obstruction among incidents reported to BCSO
The Barrow County
Sheriff's Office recently
responded to the following
incidents:
•theft by taking at Mas-
Tec on Harry McCarty
Road. Bethlehem, where
a former employee report
edly had not turned in
his company-owned cell
phone and special-made
tool kit, valued at $1,000
total. Two days after the
theft was reported, the for
mer employee returned all
the items to the company.
•willful obstruction of
law enforcement officers
and probation violation
at an East Midland Ave
nue, Winder, traffic stop,
where a passenger in the
2001 Ford Taurus that was
stopped attempted to run
from officers.
•theft by taking at a Car-
ruth Road, Winder, resi
dence. where a man report
ed the theft of two trail
cameras valued at $120
from his property.
•domestic dispute at a
Ridgeside Drive, Bethle
hem, residence, where a
woman and her fiance had
reportedly gotten into an
argument about religion.
•assist with welfare
check on a truck driver
parked at Tractor Supply on
Plaza Drive. Winder. The
driver of the 18-wheeler
was transported to a local
hospital for treatment.
•theft by taking at Hori
zon Entertainment on Pick-
lesimon Road, Winder,
where an employee report
ed a former employee had
tools, radios and digital
cameras that belonged to
the company and contact
with the former employee
had been unsuccessful.
•financial transaction
card theft and theft of
lost or mislaid property at
Walmart on Atlanta High
way NW, Winder, where a
woman reported her wal
let missing. The female
complainant said the wal
let contained her Georgia
driver’s license, several
Social Security cards, sev
eral health insurance cards,
a child support debit card,
a food stamp EBT card and
$16 in cash.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where a
loss prevention employee
reported a male asked a
cashier to price check a $95
Amp for him. The com
plainant said the employee
asked the man to provide
a receipt for the Amp and
when he couldn’t, he was
advised he would have to
pay for the item at which
time the employee stated
the male placed the Amp
in a plastic bag and walked
out of the store without
paying for it.
•damage to property -
duty upon striking unat
tended vehicle at Kanga
roo Express, Christmas
Avenue, Bethlehem, where
a man reported the front
and rear door on his 2014
Ford Focus had been dam
aged while he was inside
the store.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle with
the intent to commit a theft
or other felony, financial
transaction card theft and
theft by taking at Walmart,
Winder, where a woman
reported someone entered
her unlocked 2006 Buick
Ranier and stole her wallet
that contained her Geor
gia driver’s license, a debit
card and $11 in cash.
•driving while unli
censed on Carl-Bethlehem
Road at Patrick Mill Road
SW, Winder, where a traf
fic accident was reported.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked, speeding and seat
belt violation on Universi
ty Parkway at Smith Cem
etery Road, Winder, where
the driver of a 2016 Toyota
Corolla was stopped for
going 91 mph.
•theft by shoplifting at
Target, Loganville High
way, Bethlehem, where a
female selected various
items, placed them in her
shopping cart, passed all
points of sale and attempt
ed to exit the store without
paying for the items valued
at $181.
•theft by shoplifting
at Walmart on Atlanta
Highway, where a male
attempted to exit the store
with $225 in merchandise
he had not paid for.
•burglary and theft by
taking at a Harmony Grove
Church Road, Auburn,
residence, where a man
reported the theft of a $200
light pole from a shed on
his property.
•criminal trespass,
criminal damage to prop
erty and theft by taking
at the Georgia Club Golf
Course, Chancellors Drive,
Statham where someone
damaged the golf course
and stole green’s flags
from the driving range.
The damage and cost of
the flags were estimated at
$2,000.
•theft of services and
damaging, injuring or
interfering with property
of public utility companies
at a Dyno Trail, Statham,
residence, where some
one was reportedly steal
ing power from Georgia
Power. The estimate of sto
len power was $7,168.
•improper parking at a
Carla Court, Winder, res
idence. where an aban
doned 2002 Chevrolet
pick-up truck was located.
The complainant reported
the truck had been parked
on the street for four days.
•failure to yield when
entering/crossing roadway
and following too closely
at a Hickeria Way, Winder,
location, where a two-ve
hicle accident was report
ed.
The driver of a 2012
Ford Focus reportedly
backed out of a driveway
and struck the driver of a
2006 Jeep Fiberty.
•false swearing in a writ
ten statement at a Harpy
Eagle Drive, Winder, res
idence. where a man fded
a report in reference to
a wrecker service stealing
his truck and swearing to
false statements.
•criminal damage to
property at a Dooley Town
Road, Statham, residence,
where a woman reported
someone had damaged her
1994 Dodge Dakota by
breaking the windshield
and rear glass.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where
a female reportedly con
cealed $68 in merchandise
inside her purse and passed
all points of sale without
attempting to pay for the
items.
•following too closely
and driving without a valid
driver’s license on Uni
versity Parkway at Logan
ville Highway, Bethlehem,
where an auto accident
was reported.
•lost/found property
at Menchies, Loganville
Highway, Bethlehem,
where a woman reported
losing her wallet.
•burglary and criminal
trespass at a Carl-Bethle
hem Road, Auburn, resi
dence, where a man report
ed someone had kicked in
the door to his residence
and stole $3,500 that was
under his mattress.
•giving a false name,
address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer
on Atlanta Highway SE
at Hog Mountain Road.

cious person was reported.
•knowingly driving a
motor vehicle on a sus
pended, cancelled or
revoked registration, no
insurance and taillights/
lenses requirement viola
tion on University Park
way at Hog Mountain
Road, Winder, where a
traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 2008
Chrysler PT Cruiser.
•driving while driv
er’s license is suspended
or revoked on University
Parkway at Harry McCarty
Road, Bethlehem, where a
traffic stop was conducted
on the driver of a 1998
Dodge Ram truck who was
traveling 85 mph.
•driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of multiple
substances, reckless driv
ing and no proof of insur
ance at a Tanners Bridge
Road, Bethlehem, loca
tion, where a man driving
a dump truck on private
property reportedly backed
into a Honda Pilot causing
extensive damage.
•improper stopping/
parking within an inter
section, knowingly driv
ing a motor vehicle on
a suspended, cancelled
or revoked registration,
no insurance and driving
while driver’s license is
suspended or revoked on

Twelve Oaks Drive, Wind
er, where a 1998 Ford
F-150 truck was found in
the middle of the roadway.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart. Winder, where a
male reportedly changed
bar codes on numerous
items in an attempt to steal
$114 in merchandise.

Shop Road. Auburn, where
a man reported an alterca
tion with another man after
he allegedly went into a
residence that was posted
with a sign stating “Autho
rized Personnel Only.”
•improper stopping/
parking on roadway on
University Parkway at
Christmas Avenue, Bethle
hem, where an unoccupied
2005 Chevrolet Astro Van
was parked with the rear
end on the fog line in the
road.
•domestic dispute at a
Karis Lane, Winder, resi
dence, where a dispute was
reported between a woman
and her daughter.
•no insurance at a Duna-
hoo Road, Winder, loca
tion where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driver
of a 2002 Chrysler Voy
ager.
•burglary and criminal
trespass at a Kay Drive.
Winder, residence, where
a man reported damage
to the front window on
his house by someone
attempting to gain entry
into the residence.
•criminal damage to
property at a Maxey Court.
Winder, residence, where
a woman reported some
one had thrown eggs at her
residence.
•stalking at an Atlanta
Highway SE, Statham,
location, where a woman
reported an on-going issue

female reported concealed
$68 in items inside her
purse without attempting
to pay for the items.

Winder, residence, where
a woman reported her
ex-boyfriend, whom she
has a Temporary Protective
Order (TPO) against, had
attempted to make contact
with her through text mes
sages.
•failure to register as
a sex offender/failure to
comply with requirements/
providing false infor
mation at an East Broad
Street, location, after a
man failed to show up for
an appointment to register
as a sex offender.
•criminal trespass at a
Highway 82, Winder, res
idence, where a suspicious
person was reported.
•giving a false name,
address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer
and outstanding warrant at
Walmart, Winder, where a
man was reportedly “pan
handling” for money in the
parking lot.
•driving without a valid
driver’s license, improper
stopping on roadway. DUI
- drugs, improper lane
change/failure to maintain
lane, defective tires and
failure to register a vehi
cle at an Etheridge Drive,
Auburn, location where
a suspicious vehicle was
reported.
•criminal trespass at an
Arch Tanner Road, Beth
lehem, residence, where a
dispute was reported over
a vehicle that a man sold,
making his ex-wife unhap
py with the decision.
•theft by taking at a
Nunnally Road SE, Wind
er, residence, where a
woman reported that
another female had stolen
her shoes, kids toys and
clothes.
•giving a false name,
address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer
and outstanding warrant at
a Foxdale Road, Winder,
residence, where a suspi
cious person was reported.
•forgery at Walmart.
Winder, where a man pre
sented 43 counterfeit $1
bills for payment for items
purchased.
•harassing phone calls
at EMBA Transportation,
Duncan Lane, Auburn,
where a man reported a
disgruntled employee had
been calling the business
line multiple times after
being told to stop.
•theft by shoplifting,
possession of marijua
na, possession and use of
drug-related objects and
drugs not kept in origi
nal container at Walmart,
Winder, where a female
attempted to take $34 in
items without paying for
them.
•burglary, criminal tres
pass and theft by taking at
an Atlanta Highway SE,
Statham, residence, where
a female reported damage
to the garage door and sev
eral items missing from the
residence, including three
TVs. Xbox 360 and a Play
station II.
•lost/found property
on Dee Kennedy Road
at Freeman Brock Road,
Auburn, where a man
reported a lost tag.
•willful obstruction of
law enforcement officers at
a Kirkland Circle. Statham.
residence, where a wanted
person was apprehended.
•burglary, entering an
automobile or other motor
vehicle with the intent to
commit a theft or other
felony, theft by taking
and criminal trespass at a
Kennedy-Sells Road NW.
Auburn, residence, where
a man reported seeing a
female taking items from
inside a residence and
loading them into a truck
parked in the yard.
•criminal trespass at a
Cardinal Lane. Winder,
residence, where a woman
reported she believed her
neighbor had come onto
her property and moved
the surveyor’s markers that
were on her property.
•financial transaction
card theft at the SunTrust
Automatic Teller Machine
(ATM) on Loganville
Highway, Bethlehem,
where a man reported
accidentally leaving his
debit card in the ATM. He
reported his card was used
at a pharmacy in Winder,
before he was able to can
cel the card.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at a University Park
way/Harrison Mill Road,
Winder, location, where a
traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 2014
Mitsubishi Lancer.
•burglary and theft by
taking at the Chevron Sta
tion on Kilcrease Road.
Auburn, where some
one had entered the store
through a rear door and
stole $2,200 in US cur
rency and six blank, pre
signed checks.
