The session begins each year during the tint week in < ktober and continues eight months.
The course of instruction covers four years, hut students who present credentials from other accredited
medical colleges of full courses of study will be admitted to advanced standing after passing examinations in
those subjects wrhich have been completed in the previous years.
The essential features of t!»e curriculum are—the daily recitations in small sections, the thorough laboratory
instruction, and clinical and bedside teaching in dispensaries and hospitals by members of the faculty.
In the College building is a dispensary in which about 50.000 patients are treated yearly.
The facilities offered by the many large hospitals in New York are utilised to the utmost to familiarise the
student by personal observation with the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Bellevue Hospital, the largest of
all the city institutions, is directly opposite the College building.
