Gathers at Banquet
In Opening Session
The second session of the Mathe
matics association which is being
held at the University this week-end
will convene tonight at Lucas hall
for dinner and will proceed to Me
morial hall for the speakers of the
evening.
The principal speaker of the even
ing will be Prof. Frank Morley of
Johns Hopkins university. His sub
ject will be "The Old Order Chang-
eth.” The other speakers for the
evening will be Prof. A. B. Morton,
Georgia Tech, and Prof. J. M. Mes-
sick, Emory university.
The first session of the conven
tion was held this afternoon at 4:30,
which was for the benefit of the fac
ulties of the high schools present.
The speakers for the afternoon were
Professor Kokomoor, University of
Florida; Mr. Herman Usher, super
intendent of public schools, Buena
Vista Ga., and Prof. C. G. Phipps,
University of Florida. The round
table discussion was led by Prof.
Floyd Field, Georgia Tech.

W. Veatch, presiding elder of the
Athens-Elberton district of the Meth
odist church, pronounced the invoca
tion, and the benediction was led by
the Rev. E. L. Hill, pastor of the
First Presbyterian church of Athens.

as they see fit. I think of Christ,”
he continued, "as standing, hat in
hand, bowing to men, not scolding
and railing them, but with a pro
found respect for them, that will
appeal to the highest that is in
them.”
