Boat P. C. and got In shape for those Kenturky Wildcatg was the battle
cry of lust weeks’ practice sessions. The first part of this objective was
carried throuRh In Krand style. The Bulldogs looked good all night
against P. C. as they ran, kicked, and passed at will against the scrappy
Presbyterian eleven. The scoring, however, was so frequent and steady
that an Atlanta correspondent who If to the game a minute early found
that an Atlantu correspondent who left the game a minute early found
bark Ken McCall faked a pass and scored iib the final gun went off. Bill
Bryan Butts' kicking automaton, added the sixth-seventh point, and the
eighth conversion of the two game seuson. Tonight will climax thla pro
gram nnd comeback which has been staged with u training Intensity for
the past two weeks.
The music, cheering, and success of numerous Oeorgln squads ns they
marched on and off the field was reminiscent of the spirit of '42 nnd the
historical Rose Bowl team. More reminiscent still was the appearance
of Lafnyette King, Rose Bowl end for the University of (leorgla, who
started with the Cherry Point Murines against Athens Pre-Flight here
8unday. And spenklng of famous players from thnt same pigskin era,
Charley Trlppl will ngaln perform in Sanford Stadium as he takes the
field with the Morris Field Grimllns against the Skyrockets this Sunday
afternoon . . . Former manager of the Rose Bowl team. Flight Officer .
John Reynolds Smith, wns killed over Italy Inst week, according to n war
department communique. Ren was an Integral part of campus life during
his stay at the University. Our combined sympathy Is extended to his
father, Mr. C. J. Smith, who Is a member of the Board of Regents and a
resident of Newnnn, Ooorgla. *
Tho Intest Bulldog of the '4 2 sqund weighed In tonight at a little over
sixty pounds. He has had no previous experience hut Is expected to per
form this evening for the first time. He Is known, affectionately, as Mr.
Angel ... as handsome an English bulldog us bus ever been seen.

The representatives of the intra
mural football teams had their sec
ond meeting In Dean Tate’s office
last night to discuss the rules drawn
up by Coach Lampe. Games will be
gin sometime within the next two
weeks, and if everything goes off
as planned, a most successful intra
mural campaign will be under way.
Most important was the decision
to have only two leagues instead
of the previously planned three. Due
to the lack of responce on the part
of the campus men, the campus lea
gue has been eliminated with one
team composed entirely of campus
men helng represented In the blue
league. Now as the two leagues
stand, the red league will consist
of the larger fraternities, being Sig
ma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Nu,
SAE, K, A., and A. T. O., and the
blue league, being a mixture of the
smaller fraternities and campus
men. The teams represented in this
league are I’hl Ep, Chi Phi, Tep,
Y.M.C.A., und Cotton's campus team.
After two bloody hours of dead
locked debates, a set of rules was
finally decided upon. A few of the
more important ones are: A man is
downed when touched by his oppon
ent with one hand on any part of
the body, anyone is eligible to catch
a pnss, blocking must be with both
feet on the ground, all kick-offs must
be place kicks, calling punt forma
tion is optional, conversions are
made by either run or pass, no first
downs and five downs to a touch-

down. .
A more elaborated set of rules will
j be sent to each team along with the
schedule to be made out by Coach
Lampe. All games will be played on
the athletic fields on Coordinate
campus.
