Question Put to Students
. . . Dormitories lor Men?
What has been taken from the
Georgia spirit, and from college life
at the University by the abolition
of men's dormitories?
Several students were polled on
this question and their opinions are
as follows:
Thad Persons, Fort Gaines, Ga.,
—"I am only a freshman and don't
know how dormitory life would be.
but from what 1 have heard from
boys who have lived in dormitories
1 think we are all missing out on
something. I do know, however,
that we could use more school spirit
up here, and I feel sure that having
men's dormitories would help this
considerably.”
David Shaskan, Brooklyn, New
York,—"The present system does
not make for adequate study. There
is constant distraction. Another
thing that is missing Is the brother-
j hood born of the men living to
gether."
Howard Lawrence, Eatonton, Ga.,
—"1 too am n freshman, but from
what I’ve heard from the upperclass
men it is very nice. I know as a
member of a ball team that coopera
tion and companionship mean a lot
to a young boy as well as to older
ones.
Bobby Mitchell. Musella, Ga.,—
"The companionship which could be
had in a dormitory is now missing.
The malo students are scattered
over the town and you never have
a chance to meet them as you do in
a dormitory."
