Winter quarter rush week for
women ended last Sunday night with
Alpha Gamma Delta topping the list
with 15 new members.
Kappa Delta and Trl Delta tied
for second place in the number of

Revealed at Dance
Shirley Nan Silberstein, Atlanta,
was chosen Sweetheart of the cam
pus chapter of Tau Epsilon Phi. Miss
Silberstein, vice-president of Delta
Phi Epsilon, is a junior in the School
of Arts and Sciences.
The new Sweetheart’s identity was
revealed last Saturday during a
dance given by the pledges for the
actives at the Tau Ep Chapter house.
The dance, according to Miss Sil
berstein, was cabaret style with a
floor show, and was "really wonder
ful.”
About 10 p. m., the president of
ithe chapter began his talk during
I which the members sang the Tau Ep
I Sweetheart Song. After the group
i went over the house they stopped
before Miss Silberstein and pinned
her with a whftc gardenia corsage.
A special dance was called during
which each member danced with
their new sponsor. Miss Silberstein
was the only girl on the floor and
as each member broke on her, his
name was announced as in a leadout.
Petticoat Parade
Sunday’s pre-spring weather af
forded a chance for Georgia co-eds
to nave an A-l fashion parade, and
early blooms were seen at all
churches morning and night.
Leading the paraders was JANET
BOYD wearing a black silk crepe
dress featuring the tight three-quar
ter length sleeves and a satin drape
designed to accent the hipline.
ANNS CALHOUNS looked stately
in an electric blue dress with a
square neckliue and a double-draped
skirt producing an apron effect.
Kelly green wool and gold acces
sories was chosen by REBECCA
LEE.
JACKIE SUMNER was the latest
in style, wearing a red gabardine
suit with black accessories.
THERESA LEFT wore hand
some gray suit with silver buttons
outlining the yoke.
BETTY LOU FOWLER was lovely
in a black crepe with balloon sleeves
and ice blue satin cuffs.
GRACE COARSEY, smart looking
in a light green tailored suit, with
which she wore brown accessories.

Formal Since War
Tonight, Breakfast
Alpha Delta PI is holding Its first
postwar formal tonight at Memorial
Hall from 9 till 1. Music will be fur
nished by the Emory Aces. Following
the dance members of the sorority
and their dates will attend a break
fast at the sorority house on Milledge
Avenue.
Chaperones for the oeeaslon are to
he Mr. and Mrs. Tyus Butler and Mrs.
Ola Beachwood.

Holds Election of Officers
Beta Lambda Chapter of Kappa
Sigma announces the Initiation of
| nine pledges at a recent ceremony.
The new members wore honored at
a dinner party at the private dining
room of the Holman Hotel following
the Initiation. Initiates were Homer
Black, Cartersville; John Champion,
Chlpley; John Culbreath, .Tampa,
Fla.; Frank Jolley, Rome; William
King. Forsyth: Robert Kane, Rome;
Jud Reeves, Greenville; Ralph Trib
ble, Roberta; and James Pinson,
Rome.
The following new officers were

the Alpha Omlcron PI Sorority at an
University students have shown
considerable Interest In the current
Student Center bridge and ping-pong
tournaments, according to Miss
Nello Tumlin, director. Thirty-two
pairs have entered for the elimina
tion bridge games, which will take
'place January 21 and 22 Instead of
January 22 and 23, asorlginally an-
| nounced.
First round of the ping-pong
singles will tnke place between Janu
ary 15 and 18. with 26 men and one
co-ed competing. The second round
will take place between January 18
and 21; and the third, between
January 21 and 22. Snml-flnallsts
will fight it out January 23. and
finalists will battle next Friday,
