C. H. Johnson, Third Ward |

Tuesday night. “I do not feel

our government.”
He concluded by saying that
he did not feel students
should be allowed to vote since
they are not in Athens long
enough to become familiar with
the plans and operations of the
government.

“No, not if their permanent
residency is somewhere else.”
Jane Christie, junior, said,
“Oh, definitely, we spend so
much money and time here. I
spend 10 months a year and I
feel I should have a voice in
the government. It’s like taxa
tion without representation.”
Martha Nabors, a junior in
speech therapy, said, "I think
it’s a matter of choosing either
to vote here or to vote at
home.”
Stan Itrown, senior, said,
“Yes, we put more money into
Athens than into our own
hometowns. If we live here a
year, we should get a voice in
the government.
Georgia Iteirlio, Arlington,
Fla., a Spanish major, said,
“Yes, I think so. We spend our
money here, we should have
some say so on what goes on
in the city.”
John Edw'ards, Journalism
major, said, “Yes, any student
who lives in Athens six months
should be allowed to register
and vote because they are as
much residents here as those
who live here as transients, in
cluding professors. Students
are getting tired of being
forced to be regulated without
due representation. They want
and deserve civic responsi
bility.”

“POINT BLANK"
Persons who have read the controver
sial classic “ULYSSES” are familiar
with James Joyce’s use of words. The
film “ULYSSES’’ has now been faith
fully brought to the screen and is
presented in its unexpurgated form.
James Joyce’s “ULYSSES" was
published in 1922 but did not enter
the United States until 1933, when
Justice John M. Woolsey of the U.S.
District Court declared: “In
“ULYSSES," in spite of its unusual
frankness, I do not detect anywhere
the leer of the sensualist. I hold, there
fore, that it is not pornographic.”
Despite the above opinion, some
