ATLANTA, Ga. — The Minute-
men of Christ the King Civics
Club of Christ the King School
this week received its official
charter from the commission on
American Citizenship in Wash
ington, D. C.
The charter formally recognizes
the local unit of the Civics Club
which was recently organized.
The pupils of Grade 7 comprise
its membership.
The officers of the newly or
ganized Club are : Martha Tull,
president; Norma Wrigley, secre
tary; Richard Marchetti, treas
urer.
The Minutemen of Christ the
King Civics Club is one of more
than 2,2000 Catholic Civics Clubs
chartered in the United States
in the past year. Sponsored by
the Commission on American Citi
zenship of the Catholic University
of America in Washington, D. C.
these Clubs foster training for
good citizenship.
Through monthly projects, fea-
Catholic Messenger, these young
citizens learn in a concrete way
the meaning of Christian social
living based on principles of jus
tice and charity.
This year the Commission on
American Citizenship has set up
for the Clubs a program of study
and action under the general
theme, “We Need One Another.”
The program will stress the inter
dependence of urban and rural
people.

Trinity Circle
To Join Sodality
On December 8th
MACON, GA. — Holy Trinity
Circle of St. Joseph’s Church
held their November meeting on
Monday, Nov. 8th at the Catho
lic Woman’s Clubhouse, with
Mrs. E. H. Buck, President, pre
siding.
Committee chairmen gave
brief reports and Mrs. G. A. Ken-
nington told about the recent
Laymen’s Convention in Augus
ta, and plans were told for the
Bingo party on November 19th
for the benefit of the Catholic
Woman’s Club. Mrs. H. W. Clark
is chairman of this event; Mrs.
Robert Young, tickets, Mrs. Carl
Cain, Jr. and Mrs. Holst C. Beall
as; Mrs. Robert McCrary,
Mrs. J. P. McGoldrick and Mrs.
Charles .Long refreshments.

had charge of the program which
included book reviews and re
commendations for reading by
Mrs. John McBrearty, Mrs. A.
T. Worsham and Mrs. J. P. Mc
Goldrick.
Father Benanti spoke to the
members on the Mystical Body.
He also told of his hope to have
the Circle received into the So
dality of Our Blessed Lady.
It was voted unanimously that
the membership be received on
December 8th, The Feast of the
Immaculate Conception, with
other organizations in the
Church and to be known hence
forth as the Holy Trinity Sodali
ty. Membership cards with the
Prayer To the Most Holy Trinity
were distributed.
At the conclusion o fthe meet
ing, the hostesses Mrs. H. W.
Clark, Mrs. Holst C. Beall served
refreshments.
