Brunswick Festival
The Saint Francis Xavier Council of Catholic Women will hold its 12th
Annual International Food Tasting Festival on February 24, from 11:30 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m. at the parish center in Brunswick. Spanish, Portuguese, Italian,
Irish and other cuisines will be offered. A 50-cent coupon buys one dish.
Proceeds will benefit the “Water for Life” program and the Saint Francis
Xavier School and Parish building funds. Advance tickets are $5.00, ex
changeable for 12 coupons (worth $6.00) at the door. Coupons purchased at
the festival will cost 50 cents each. Tickets are available from any member of
the Council or downtown at Peter’s Male Apparel.
Oyster Roast
Knights of Columbus Council 5588, Savannah, will host an “All You Can Eat”
Oyster Roast at the council home at Christopher Drive and Waters Avenue Feb
ruary 24 from noon until 5:00 p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage dogs, soft
drinks and adult beverages will be available. The cost is $ 10.00.
Macon Concert
The Choir of Saint Joseph Church, Macon, Nelda Chapman, director, will
present a one-hour free concert of sacred choral music at 3:00 p.m. on Feb
ruary 25 at the church, 830 Poplar St., Macon. The program features choral
music by Bruckner and Durufle, and the premier performance of the Kyrie,
Sanctus and Agnus Dei from Missa Pro Vita, a pro-life Mass by parishioner
James A.Thigpen.

Augusta Concert Series
The Most Holy Trinity Concert Series continues on February 25 at 4:00 p.m.
with Leslie L. Hunt, flute, and Dr. Janet E. Hunt, piano, in a concert of music by
J. S. Bach, Lowell Liebermann, Cecile Chaminade and Georges Bizet. A recep
tion will follow this free concert. The Church of the Most Holy Trinity is located
on the comer of Telfair and Eighth Streets, Augusta.
St. Marys Mission
Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church, St. Mary’s, will hold a parish mission
given by Father Frederick Pompei from February 25-27, beginning at 7:30
p.m. each night. Refreshments and fellowship follow the Sunday and Tuesday
sessions. Monday’s session includes the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Holy Spirit Parish Mission
Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4074 Chambers Road, Macon, will hold a
mission entitled “Surrender Yourself to Jesus” focusing on one’s intimate rela
tionship with God. March 4-7; 7:15 p.m. Father Frederick Pompei will con
duct the mission. There is no charge and babysitting will be provided.
