Our Lady of Perpetual Help Fraternity, THIRD ORDER
OF MARY, will meet on Sun., Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. in St. An
thony’s Church, Gordon and Ashby Streets, S.W. off 1-20. A
three-part instruction class will begin the same day at 2:30
p.m. in the rectory. The class is for persons wishing to learn
more about the Third Order, a branch of the Society of
Mary for lay persons. To register for these classes, please

Flannery O’Connor’s first novel, WISE BLOOD,
will be discussed on Tues., Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at St.
Pius X High School, 2674 Johnson Road, N.E. Dr.
Robert W. Hill, chairman of the English department
at Kennesaw College, will lead the group. Anyone in
terested in an evening of stimulating discussion is in

Northeast Intown YWCA is now registering for WINTER
QUARTER CLASSES. Topics range from physical fitness
to languages and include Computers for Kids, Health Issues
for Seniors and Resume Writing Workshop. For more infor

Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital will sponsor a SUPER
SITTER SESSION for persons 11 years old and older who
are interested in learning babysitting skills. Pre
registration for the Feb. 11 session is required. No
telephone registrations will be accepted after Feb. 8. The
session will be from 2 to 4 p.m. in the hospital auditorium,

“Aging in The Fast Lane: A Diocesan Look at The
Realities of An Aging Society,” has been CANCELED for
Jan. 25 and 28. An alternate date will be announced in the
spring.

WORLD MARRIAGE DAY DINNER-DANCE
will be held Feb. 4 at the Southern Bell Learning
Center, 285 North Druid Hills Highway in Atlanta
beginning at 6:30 p.m. The dinner-dance is sponsored
by Marriage Encounter and costs $30 a couple. Reser
vations for spending the night cost an additional $35.

SELF-ESTEEM: YOURS TO CHOOSE OR LOSE is a
four-session workshop designed to help persons understand
and assess their self-esteem. Two separate sessions will be
offered; one during the day on Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m.
beginning Jan. 19; the other on Sunday evenings from 8 to
9:30 beginning Jan. 22. Cost is $40. The workshop will be
held at St. Patrick’s Church, 2140 Beaver Ruin Road in Nor-

TWO RETREATS will be offered at Ignatius House
during February. “Fidelity Through Temptation”
will be directed by Father Clair Cazayoux, S.J., Feb.
10-12. “The Strength of the Church,” for Knights of
Columbus and their spouses, will be directed by
Father Niel Jarreau. S.J., Feb. 17-19. The retreats
begin with supper at 7 p.m. on Friday and end after

ATLANTA INTERFAITH BROADCASTING will present
an edited 30-minute version of the Jan. 8 interfaith service
at the Temple honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., on
Wed., Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m., and Fri., Jan. 20 at 12 noon. AIB
programming is available on some cable outlets.

A training session for persons interested in working with
RAINBOWS FOR ALL GOD’S CHILDREN will be held
Sun., Feb. 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Hyland Center at Christ
the King Cathedral, 2699 Peachtree Road in Atlanta. The
program is one of peer support for children living in single
parent or stepparent families. A $3 registration fee covers
the cost of materials and refreshments. Registration
