Mr. and Mrs. C. Greenberg an
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Rose, to Mr. Jacob Holtz,
of this city, formerly of Hamilton,
Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Elsas, of
Lawrence, L. I., announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Miss Dorothy
Elsas, to Louis Salzenstein, of Mil
waukee, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Hey man
of 1303 Briarcliff Road, announce the
birth of a son, Tuesday, June 30th,
who is named Charles Simon Heyman,
Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rothenberg an
nounce the birth of a son, June 28th.
Mr. and Mrs. David Printz announce
the birth of a baby girl, June 21st,
who is named Patsy Ruth.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lincoln announce
the birth of a baby girl, June lfith.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol Gillman announce
the birth of a son June 28t.h.
Miss Frances Benjamin of Jackson
ville, Fla. was the recent guest of
Mr. and Mis. Morris Mass.
Mr. Columbus Wise of Columbus,
Ga. spent a few days in the city.
Mrs. Harold Mon tag and daughter,
Elaine, are spending several weeks in
Atlantic City.
Mr. Arthur Harris, Jr. graduated
from Yale University.
Mrs. Sam Cahn of Montgomery was
the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Sigfried
Guthman.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schwartz
and children were recent guests of Mr.
and Mr.-?. Victor Kreigshaber at their
summer home Camp Victor.
Mrs. Josie Strauss, Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Gershon, Joe, Jr. motored to Mem
phis for a short stay.
Hrs. Ilermie Dreyfus of Birming
ham was the recent guest of Mrs.
Herman Sommers.
Mrs. Arthur Wiseberg and family
have returned from Sea Island Beach,

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harris have
returned from a motor trip to New
York and New Haven.
Mrs. Harry Levison and Mrs. Wine-
berger of Youngtown are registered
at the Winecoff Hotel.
The marriage of Miss Carol Ruth
Moss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mor
ris Willis Moss, to Dr. Aaron Z.
Oberdorfer, of Jacksonville, Fla., was
solemnized at a brilliant ceremony
June 17th at the Standard Club. The
ceremony was performed by Rabbi
David Marx in the ballroom, and was
witnessed by an assemblage of rela
tives and close friends. Baskets filled
with white gladioli, alternated with
seven-branched candelabra, holding

lighted tapers and were arranged in
front of the improvised altar, the
background being formed by stately
palms, the altar being erected in the
north end of the spacious ballroom.
^ Miss Elise Brasch, of Jacksonville,
Tla., was bridesmaid, and was gowned
in powder blue lace, veiling blue taf
feta, and fashioned on princess lines,
her slippers and hose matching her
costume. She carried a sheaf of spring
flowers, tied with pink ribbon. The
little flower girl, Miss Joyce Ober-
doiler, cousin of the bridegroom, wore
a frock of pink chiffon, trimmed with
blue ribbons and carried an old-fash
ioned colonial bouquet of pastel-
shaded flowers.
Miss Marjorie Serf was maid of
honor, and her gown was of ecru
lace, fashioned along princiess lines,
and veiling peach-colored taffeta. Max
' ^berdorfer, Jr. acted as best man
oi his brother, the bridegroom, and
Donald Oberdorfer was groomsman.
Dr. and Mrs. Oberdorfer left on a
wedding journey to Cuba, and the
bride traveled in an ensemble of gray

The many friends of Mi ss
Haas regret to hear of her recent
accident.
An interesting recent affair was the
beach pajama party at which Mr.
and Mrs. Leopold J. Haas were host-
at the Standard Club in honor of their
visitor Miss Viola Grace Rosenblatt
of Philadelphia, Pa. The guests en-
joyed a swim in the crystal clear pool
of the club, followed by supper, which
was served on the picturesque terrace.
The guests numbered sixty friends of
the hosts.
Mrs. Bertha Hirschberg is spend
ing some time in Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kramer have
returned to their home in Jackson
ville, Fla.
Miss Jane Myer is spending the
summer at a camp in Miami.
Mrs. S. A. Visanski has recovered
from a recent operation and is now
able to see her friends.
Mrs. Harriet Ritler celebrated her
92nd birthday.
A dinner given by Mr. and Mrs.
M. Janko, celebrating their twenty-
fifth anniversary was held at their
home, which was decorated for the oc
casion with cut flowers. The table was
spread with a beautiful imported linen
cloth, that was decorated with the
wedding cake and a miniature bride
and bridegroom.
Mrs. Janko was dressed in a beau
tiful black lace gown with a corsage
of white buds and lilies of the vale.
Their children, Mrs. A1 Ashendon
and Mr. Isaac Janko, of Louisville.
Ky., assisted in entertaining.
