ENGAGEMENTS
« Mr. and Mrs. Morris Fein, of Bir-
mineham, Ala, announce the en
gagement of their daughter, Elsie
Thelma, to Harry Siegel, the marri
age to be solemnized in February.
. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Reisman an
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Lillian, to Harry M. Perl
man, of Hurtsboro, Ala., the marri
age to be solemnized in February.
MARRIAGES
* Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cohen an
nounce the marriage of their dau
ghter, Beatrice, to Harry Sumkin,
of New York City, the ceremony
having been performed at Areles
Hall in New York. After their re
turn trom their wedding trip, Mr.
and Mrs. Sumkin will reside in New
York.
• Mr. and Mrs. Cathriel Birsh-
tein, of Norfolk, Va., announce
the wedding of their daughter,
Anna, to Louis Geffen, son of Rab
bi and Mrs. Tobias Geffen, of
Atlanta. The ceremony was per
formed at the Kahl Chasidim
Synagogue in Norfolk by Rabbi
J. D. Gordon, of Norfolk; RabDi
Tobias Geffen, of Atlanta, father
of the bride-groom; Rabbi Joel
S. Geffen, of Troy, N. Y., brother
of the bridegroom; Rabbi Ber
nard Birshtein, of New York
City, uncle of the bride; and Can
ton Hirsch Geffen, of Savannah,
Ga., uncle of the bridegroom.
A reception and dance for more
than three hundred guests fol
lowed at the Zionist Hall. Imme
diately after the reception, the
bridal couple left on a wedding
trip to Miami Beach ,Fla., after
which they will make their home
in Atlanta.
• Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Surasky
announce the wedding of their
daughter, Ida, to L. Lyle Bank, of
New York City. The ceremony was
pei formed by Rabbi Erster, of
Augusta, Ga., at the Adath Jesh-
urum Synagogue.
Following the wedding ceremony
a dinner was given at the Syna
gogue by Mr. and Mrs. Solomon
Surasky. The couple left for a
wedding trip to Florida points, and
are at tome in New York City
after January 1st.
• Miss Jeanette Borochoff and
Morris Goodman were married at
a quiet ceremony taking place at
the home of the bride’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Borochoff.
Rabbi Harry Epstein performed
the ceremony. Following the wed
ding an informal reception was
given.
Afcer a short wedding trip to
Washington, D. C., the young cou
ple will return to Charlotte, N. C.
for residence.
Herman Applebaum, Burney Slm-

Dr. Leon Foster, Mossis Coleman,
Savannah, Ga., and Abe Freed
man.
Miss Henrietta Agoos, of Thom
as ton, Ga., entertained with a
dance at the residence of her
grandmother, Mrs. Simowitz, in
Augusta.
* Misses Francis Pophin, Harri
ett Siratto, Lorraine Wilensky, en
tertained for Miss Marion Goodes
at the home of Miss Frances
Pophin, Upper Ellis Street, in Au
gusta, Ga.
* Miss Zelda Smith and Miss
Anne Werbin, of Atlanta, were
the guests over New Year at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sim
owitz, Augusta, Ga.
* Mrs. Max Epstein, Mr. Phil Ep
stein, Misses Edythe and Mildred
Epstein have returned from Mi
ami, Fla., where they spent the
last two weeks.
* Miss Esther ^'Kimmel, bride-
elect, was central figure at a lin
gerie shower at which Miss Fran
ces Gershon entertained at her
home on Atlanta Avenue.
Mr. Julius Perlinskl, who at
tends the University of Virginia,
spent the holidays with his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Perlin-
ski.
Mr. Irving Lipton has returned
from Florida, after having spent
the holidays in Tampa, and other
points of interest.
Mr. and Mrs. M. Stephen Schif-
fer are in New York City.

of their son, Bennie, which was
held at Adath Jeshurum Syna
gogue. A reception followed the
services in the auditorium of the
synagogue.
* The Yudedum Club of Columbia,
South Carolina, gave a very enjoy
able dance at the Jefferson Hotel
Ball Room, Columbia, South Caro
lina. The dance was well attended
with guests from distant and near
by cities in North and South Caro
lina, Georgia, Alabama and Ten
nessee.
The guest of honor of the e
ning was Mr. Sol Levy, of Seattle,
Washington. Music by Mickey Ab
dallah and his orchestra.
* Dr. and Mrs. D. J. Boaz have re
turned from a trip to Miami and
Key West, Florida, from where
they sailed to Havana, Cuba, re
maining there a week. They re
turned from Havana via airplane.
* Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eichberg,
of New York, are visiting their pa
rents, Mr. and Mrs. David Eich
berg.
Miss Bertha Louise Kullman, of
Memphis, Tennessee, who has been
visiting relatives in Cincinnati,
Ohio, is now the guest of her aunt,
Mrs. Henry L. Solomonson, on
Highland Avenue.
* Mrs. Sara Gassner, of New York
City, is the gUest of Dr. and Mrs.
D. J. Boaz at their home in Brook-
wood Hills. Mrs. Gassner will re
main in Atlanta until spring, as the
guest of Dr. and Mrs. Boaz.
* Miss Mildred Weiss, who attends
Bowling Green University, spent
the holidays with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Weiss.
* Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cohen enter
tained at a tea honoring their dau
ghter, Miss Mildred Cohen, and her
guests, Misses Jo Ettinger, of Wil
son, N. C., and Polly Jacobson, of
Winston-Salem, N. C.
* Miss Frieda Boaz has just re
turned from a nine week’s trip from
Tampa and Miami. From Miami
she went to Havana, Cuba, by boat
with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. D.
J. Boaz, and returned with them
via airplane.
* Miss Ruby Eichberg has been
in New York City.

leans, La., has been visiting Mrs.
