An Attempt by Anti-Fascists to
Break up Mosley’s Meeting
was Frustrated
Special Assistant
London (WNS) — Casting all
discretion to the winds, Sir Os
wald Mosley officially embraced
Nazi anti-Semitism as part of the
program of his Fascist black shirt
movement when he delivered a
characteristically Hitler speech at
a black shirt rally. Asserting that
“for the first time I openly and
publicly challenge Jewish inter
ests in this country,” Sir Oswald
declared that “commanding com
merce, commanding the press,
commanding the cinema, dominat
ing the city of London, they are
killing industry with their sweat
shops. These great interests are
not intimidating and will not in
timidate the Fascist movement of
the modern age.” An attempt by
anti-Fascists to break up Mosley’s
meeting was frustrated by the po
lice who swung their clubs on
many anti-Fascists. Hecklers in
the meeting hall were ejected by
Mosley’s blackshirts.

Berlin (WNS) — Germany
should use its Jewish residents
as hostages in case a foreign
power threatens her with armed
aggression or economic pressure,
E. W. P. Tangley, an American,
declares in an article in Der
Judenkenner, new Berlin anti-
Semitic weekly. Pointing out that
the Jews would be of “inestimable
value in such an eventuality,
Tangley urges the Nazi regime to
prepare to jail all Jews, including
women and children, as soon as
foreign countries declare military
or economic war against the
Reich. Tangley recommends that
the German papers start a cam
paign to popularize the idea of
considering the Jews as hostages
and emphasizes that such a drive
would be a potent weapon against
nations allegedly dominated by
Jewish influence.

Weekly Day of Rest
Jerusalem (WNS—Palcor Agen

the municipalities of Palestine to
fix a weekly day of rest. The law

rest provision is to govern not only
business establishments but is to
halt the loading and unloading

of the new ordinance is a by-law

the famous Dionne quintuplets,
