Greenwood, S. C., with their
mother, Mrs. A. Rosenberg.
Temple Students
Set “Blue-Jean”
Party for Feb. 12
The Junior Youth Group of the
Temple, has planned a “blue-jean
party” for 8 p. m. Saturday, Feb.
12 at the Temple Assembly Hall.
Those in charge of the party are
Gay Miller, Vicki Korman, Jerry
Kahn, Charles Kroloff, Louis Hol
land, Betsy Gerson, Alan Mandel,
Diane Eisenberg, Margot Baeder,
Barbara Goldwasser, and Jules
Stine.
There will be dancing, refresh
ments and prizes. The music will
be supplied by the “Music Mak
ers” (formerly. The A. A. Aces).
The members of the band include,
Larry Lewis, Jack Horowitz, Louis
Kraar, Alan Piassick, Morton
Gruber and Maurice Berger. The
bgnd is managed by Abe Lewis.
The affair is expected to be a
big success, and any Temple stu
dent in the upper grades is invited
to attend.
KIRSIISTEIN-SUTKER
Miss Esther G. Kirshstein, the
daughter of Mrs. Sara Kirshstein
of Charleston, became the bride
of Abraham Sutker, son of Mr.
and Mrs. M. Sutker, of McColl,
S. C., at B’rith Sholom Synagogue
Jan. 16.
Officiating were Rabbi Gilbert
Klapperman and the Rev. David
Sherman, cantor, and Rabbi Alter
Kirshstein, an uncle of the bride.
Attendants were Mrs. Sylvia
Yellin of Savannah, the bride’s
sister and matron of honor; Misses
Minnie Nussbaum and Phyllis
Kaufman, bridesmaids. Miss
Nancy Ann Kirshstein was flower
girl. Kolman Sutker of McColl and
the University of S. C., was his
brother’s best man.
Ushers were Max Kirshstein,
Herbert Steiner, Albert Yellin and
Louis Sutker.
A reception in the Beth Israel
Hall followed. The bride is a na
tive of Charleston. She was asso
ciated with the W. Lee Young
blood Company and the U. S.
Casualty before her marriage.
The groom attended Clemson
College and was in the Navy dur
ing World War II. He is at present
teaching a veterans’ class in the
McColl schools.

Wednesday to
Atlanta Lodge
Philip Weltner, president of
Oglethorpe University, will ad
dress the Atlanta Lodge, B’nai
B’rith, at 8:15 p. m. Wednesday,
Feb. 16, at the Mayfair Club.
President Bob Lipshutz extend
ed an invitation to members of
Gate City Lodge and others of the
community to be present to hear
Mr. Weltner.
The speaker is a noted educa
tor. He was chancellor of the Uni
versity System of Georgia from
1933 to 1935. He is a graduate of
the University of Georgia and Co
lumbia, University.

Jan. 24 was literally “reunion
night” for Atlanta’s Miami colony.
Nearly fifty of the Georgia con
tingent in this Florida resort as
sembled for an evening of cele
bration.
Occasion was the twentieth
wedding anniversary of Rabbi and
Mrs. Harry Epstein, who had
traveled south for a vacation from
the Atlanta routine.
