take place at 11 a.m. Thursday,
Dec. 9, in the Houae Chamber of
the State Capitol Building.
Convenor of this year’s event
is B’nsi Frith Women, with par
ticipation from Church Women
United, League of Women
Voters, and all the Jewish
women’s organisations in the
community,
Mrs. Celia Adler, chairman of
the day, has expressed gratitude
for the cooperation and commit
ment of the organizations —
both Jewish and non-Jewish —
to dramatise the indignities of
the Russian Jew. Mrs. Mary
Beth Busbee, wife of the gover
nor, will be a special guest.
Students from the Rabbi Ep
stein School and Hebrew
Academy will participate in the
program.
Beverly Merlin, a member of
B’nai B’rith Women, will narrate
a presentation, “Four Women,”
by members of Church Women
United and League of Women
Voters.
Mrs. Betty Ann Jacobson,
president of the Women’s Divi
sion of the Federation, and the
staff of Federation have helped
guide the “Plea” to its finality.

ADL's Goldstein Award
To Be Given December 4
The Abe Goldstein Human
Relations Award will be
presented to Lawrence L.
Gellerstedt Jr. at the annual
banquet of the Anti-Defamation
League of B’nai B’rith at 8:90
p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the
Peachtree Plaza Hotel.
B’na B’rith Men and B’nai
B’rith Women join in hosting the
event. Joel Goldberg, president
of Rich’s, and Richard Kattel,
president of the CAS Bank, are
dinner chairmen.
Presentation of the award to
Gellerstedt will be made by Abe
Goldstein, whose name it bears,
and his son, Leon Goldstein. The
honoree, outgoing chairman of
the United Way and past presi
dent of the Atlanta Chamber of
Commerce, was chosen , as an
outstanding citizen of the com
munity.
Speaker for the evening will
be Dore Schary, noted
playwright, author, producer
and honorary national chairman
of the ADL.
Previous recipients of the Abe
Goldstein Award have been
former mayors Ivan Allen and
the late William B. Hartsfield,
the late Rabbi Jacob Rothschild,
Elmo Ellis, Jesse Hill, Sen. and
Mrs. Herman Talmadge, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Aaron, Irving K.
Kaler, William C. Bartholomay
and Rabbi Harry H. Epstein.
