Harriet Gail Levin of Savannah
became the bride of Jeffrey Ronald
Bryan on Dec. 19, at B’nai B’rith
Jacob Synagogue, with Rabbi
Avigdor Status officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Irving Levin of Savannah and the
late Mr. Levin. The bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Bryan of Savannah.
Dr. Barry Levin of Orlando,
Fla., gave his sister away. Sherri
Levin of Los Angeles was her
sister’s maid of honor and Pam
Levin of Orlando, the bride’s
sister-in-law, was matron of
honor.
Steve Bryan was his brother’s
best man. Also attending the
bridegroom were Norman Epstein
of Atlanta, Richard Wiener of Del
Ray Beach, Fla., Hugh Minkovitz
of Sylvania, Ga., Harry Center and
Mark Sussman, both of Savannah.
M iss Heddy Aronson of
Savannah, cousin of the bride,
kept the bride's book.
Grandparents attending the
wedding were Mrs. Harold
Aronson and Mrs. Joe Levin, both
of Savannah.
Following a wedding trip to
Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will
live in Savannah.
Feinberg-Corbitt
Nancy Dee Corbitt and Phillip
K. Feinberg, both of Valdosta,
Ga., were married Sunday, Dec.
19, at Beth Shalom Synagogue in
Jacksonville, Fla., with Rabbi
Gary Perras officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ulyess Corbit of
Douglas, Ga. The bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon
Feinberg of Valdosta.
Mrs. Lynn Bolden of Douglas
was her sister’s matron of honor.
Mrs. Lynn Allen was a bridesmaid.
Bruce Feinberg of Stamford,
Conn., was best man.
Maurice Cassotta of Valdosta
was an usher.
The bride is employed by
Quitman Manufacturing Company
in Quitman, Ga.

Schatten-Schmerling
Dr. and Mrs. William E.
Schatten of Atlanta announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Karen Renee, to Richard Alan
Shmerling, son of Dr. and Mrs.
Sanford Shmerling and the late
Martha Copeloff Shmerling of
Atlanta.
Miss Schatten is the
granddaughter of LT. Cohen and
the late Sylvia Gold Cohen, and
Mrs. Eva Schatten Davis, all of
Atlanta.
The bride-elect received her
bachelor of science degree in
dance from Skidmore College in
1980. She is currently a teacher in
the pre-school and the dance
departments of the Lovett School,
from which she is a graduate.
Mr. Shmerling is the grandson
of the late Sylvia and Dr. Mose
Copeloff, and Mrs. Lena
Shmerling and the late Morris
Shmerling, all of Atlanta.
The bridegroom-elect graduated
the Lovett School with highest
honors and received his bachelor
of science degree cum laude in
biology from the University of
Georgia in 1979. Mr. Shmerling is
currently in his third year of
medical school at the Medical
College of Georgia in Augusta. He
is vice-president of the Phi Delta
Epsilon medical fraternity.
A June wedding is planned.
Hochbaum-Jacobs
Mr. and Mrs. David K.
Hochbaum of Atlanta announce
the engagement of their daughter,
Norma Joanne, to Allan Jacobs,
son of Mrs. Sherry Smullian of
Jacksonville, Fla., and Joseph
Marvin Jacobs of Atlanta.
Ms. Hochbaum is the
granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth
Hochbaum and the late Abraham
Hochbaum of Revere, Mass., and
the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Levy
of Atlanta.
Mr. Jacobs is the grandson of
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel E. Brody of
Atlanta and the late Isidor Jacobs
and Mrs. Lizzie Jacobs
Scheinbaum of Atlanta.
The bride-elect attended
DeKalb Area Technical School
and is currently employed by the
law firm of Smith, Cohen, Ringel,
Kohler & Martin.
The prospective bridegroom
received his degree in management
from Georgia State University and
is currently employed by Turtle’s
Records and Tapes.
An October wedding is planned.
Hawes-Needle
Dr. and Mrs. Harry Rephan
Needle, of Charleston, S.C.,
announce the marriage of their
daughter, Sally, to Verne Allen
Hawes Jr. of Atlanta, son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Verne Allen
Hawes Sr. of Saginaw, Mich.
Mrs. Hawes is the granddaughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Needle of Charleston, and Mrs.
Alex Sherman of Atlanta, and the
late Alex Sherman.
The wedding and reception took
place on Nov. 27, at the Sheraton
Charleston Hotel. The Honorable
Gus Pearlman officiated.
The bride is a graduate of the
Emory University School of
Medicine, and is the former
director of the Learning Center at
the Lovett School.
The bridegroom is a graduate of
the University of Michigan and is
employed as headmaster of the
Lovett School in Atlanta.
After a wedding trip to Amelia
Island, Fla., the couple is living in
Atlanta.
Sachs-Auerbach
Mrs. Sandra A. Sachs and
Daniel R. Sachs of Baltimore,
Md., announce the engagement of
their daughter, Sharon Kay, to
Alan David Auerbach, son of
Beverly and Hy Auerbach of
Atlanta.
Miss Sachs is the granddaughter
of Samuel J. Sachs of Baltimore
and the late Mrs. Bertha Sachs,
and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Aaron of
Baltimore.
The bride-elect attended Bais
Yaakov in Baltimore and Neveh
Yerushalayim, Jerusalem, Israel.
She is presently employed by
S.B.M. Trading Inc. in New York
City.
Mr. Auerbach is the grandson of
Mrs. Celia Bloom of Fayetteville,
N.C., and the late Israel Bloom,
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Abe
Auerbach of Atlanta.
The prospective bridegroom
studied at Yeshivot in Israel,
Georgia State University, and will
graduate from Touro College in
New York in June 1983. He is
presently self-employed.
A May wedding is planned in
Baltimore.

Moret were married Dec. 2, with
Rabbi Donald Tam of Temple
Emanu-El officiating.
The bride is a partner at The
Petite Place. The bridegroom is a
partner with Dixie Bottle and
