Hadassah to hold
review of Jewish music
Mount Scopus Hadassah will
meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.
18, at the home of Sondra Epstein,
2513 Melinda Drive, N.E. Robert
Levine will review A.Z. Idelsohn’s
“The History of Jewish Music in
Historical Development.”

Housemate Match gets new chief
Joanne Freedman Spector has
been appointed program coordinator
for H ousemate M atch, anew concept
in homesharing.
Housemate Match brings people
in need of housing together with
those who have extra space in their
homes or apartments. Each home-
sharer has his/her own private
bedroom and shares common areas
such as living room and kitchen.
Housemate Match is available to
people 18 years of age or older, of
all ethnic and socio-economic groups.
One person in the match must be at
least 60 years of age.
Housemate Match is a non-profit
program sponsored by the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center and
subsidized through publicand private
foundations.

Torah Day School sets
dedication of building
Torah Day School of Atlanta
invites the community to particpate
in a Chanukat Ha-Bayit ceremony
to dedicate its building at 1880
Curtis Drive at 2 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 15.
The dedication will feature a
presentation by the school’s students
and the posting of mezuzot by
students and their parents. A tour
of the facility and refreshments will
cap the day’s festivities.

Jan Epstein joins ABJE
Mrs. Jan Epstein, new staff member at the Atlanta Bureau of
Jewish Education, is coordinator of adult education for the Adult
Institute Series.
Mrs. Epstein is a national board member of the Union of
American Hebrew Congregations, serving on several national
committees. She is co- chairperson of the Southeast Region C ollege
Committee and member of the Placement Assistance Team of the
Central Conference of American Rabbis.

Free course is offered
to sufferers of arthritis
The Georgia Chapter of the
Arthritis Foundation is sponsoring
another Arthritis Self Help Course
beginning Thursday, Jan. 9, at the
AJCC/ Peachtree. The course consists
of two-hour sessions meeting once
each week for six weeks.
The course, designed to meet the
needs of those who suffer with
arthritis, addresses common concerns
such as pain, disability, fear and
depression. Principles of exercise,
relaxation, joint protection, pain
therapy, medications, nutrition and
non-traditional treatments will be
discussed.
To register for this free course,
arthritis patients and their family
members can call the Georgia
Chapter, 873-3240, by Jan. 2.
