UJA Women’s Division plans
fall leadership mission to Israel
The United Jewish Appeal
Women’s Division has announced
a National Women’s Division
Eeadership Mission to Israel Sept.
14-26. The mission will be a part of
Celebration ’87, a campaign open

two-day campaign launch.
The two-week program is directed
toward heightening knowledge and
interest in Israel as well as increas
ing awareness of the programs and
human services provided by the
Jewish Agency and American Jew
ish Joint Distribution Committee
and supported by the UJA and
Federation Campaign. It will incor
porate the special spirit of self-
discovery, encounter and personal
growth found in the Women's Di
vision.
Highlights of the Mission will
include a briefing by Prime Minis
ter Shimon Peres at the Western
Wall, a celebration of the centen
nial of David Ben-Gurion at Sde

neighborhoods from Ammunition
Hill to the Western Wall along the
1967 paratroopers’ route.
Participants will also have the
opportunity to meet with Israelis
from all walks of life. There will be
briefings on future plans and direc

hi-tech achievements, as well as
visits with new immigrants at Israel
Absorption Centers, youngsters at
Youth Aliyah Villages and resi

the innovative programming of the
Jewish Agency’s Rural Settlement
Department.
The mission is open to any
woman in Atlanta who makes a
minimum contribution of $500 to
the 1987 Atlanta Jewish Federa

cost of the mission is $2,400. Indi

campaign pledge are eligible for a
UJA subsidy, bringing the total
cost of the trip to $ 1,665. All flights
are on El Al, flying non-stop, di
rectly to and from Israel.
According to Laura Dinerman
and Judith Cohen, co-chairmen of
the 1987 Women’s Division Cam
paign, the National Leadership
Mission will be a wonderful oppor
tunity for Atlanta’s women to join
together with women from all over
America in the spirit and challenge
of Israel, and to be touched by the
pride and promise that binds all
Jews, one to another.
The Federation’s Women’s Divi

July 8, at the home of Laura Diner-
