On noxt Tuesday, November Ctli, by
far tho most important election since
the organization of our government is
to take place. In former strifes /xir/y

in jeopardy. The question, as to how
a man shall vote, always important, i*
now freighted with fearful rospom-ihili-
ty. Evory man should bring the- ques

of duty, just as if ho knew tho fate of
this llcpublic depended on Ids Individ
mil action.
The success or defeat of the Union
Ticket, will—if civil war should hinge
upon tills fact, as it may—make a dif
ference of at least 20 per cent in tho
value of all kinds of property through
out tho country. A man then worth
$1000, lias at stake n pecuniary interest
of $200; if worth $10,000 ho risks $2,000
If a man is largely in debt ho will bo
uttorly ruined; for, after tho depression
of proporty lie cannot possibly pay out.
A laboring man will find his wages re
duced from a dollar and a half a day to
one dollar, and tho chances for getting
work at all, will bo greatly reduced. It
may bo said that pecuniary considera
tions aro beneath the notice of patriots.
This may bo truo or it may not. In-
tercet should not bo weighed against
principle. But that is not tho caso now.
We now havo prineiple t patriotism and in
terest a\\ on on onaHkh) of thoRoalos and
on tho othor sido, parlyism, sectional strifes
and animosities, and it may bo civil
itself. No reasonable man, in Ids senses
has a shadow of a doubt but that John
Boll, if olectod, would restore peace and
harmony to tho country by giving thoir
constitutional rights to all sootions ; and
this is all tho South wants, or lias ever
askod for. It is almost cortuin that
throe fourths of tho Southern . State#
will cast their Votes for this noble patri
ot and pure statesman. Georgia can bo
