Over and Over Again.
Over and over again.
No matter which way L tu.n,
I always find in the Book of Life
Some lesson I have to learn.
1 must take my turn at the mill.
I must grind out the golden grain,
I must work at my task, with a resolute
will,
Over and over again.
We cannot measure the iiced
0:'even the tiniest flower,
Nor check the flow of the golden sail 's
That run through a single hour.
But the morning dews must fall,
And the sun aud the summer rain
if ust do their part, and perform it all
Over and over a gain.
Over and over again
The brook through the meadow flows,
And over an J over again
The ponderous mill-wheel goes
Once doing will *>ot suffice,
Though doing be nut in vain;
And a blessing, failing us once or twice.
May eorne it v.e try again.
The path that has once been trod
Is never so rough lotlic feet;
And tlie lesson we once have learned
Is never so hard to repeat .
Though sorrowful tears may fall,
And the heart to its depth be driven
With storm aud tempest, we need them all
To render us meet for heaven.
A Morning Sunbeam.
A nestling in the little crib,
A soft hand laid upon my head,
A gentle whisper in tuy ear—
“Mamma, I’m turnin’ into bed !”
“O no !”* said, “tvill never do;
Now, shut those little peepers tight,
And sleep and dream till morning breaks;
Then you may dome— when comes the
li.lit.” ,
Again a nestling in I lie crib.
As down to rest.my birdie lay ;
I listened, for [ thought she spoke;
“Iluddy up, Light !” [ hoard her
,...
Then all was s ill. We slept again
Till daivn lit up the eastern sky ;
Then sang iny birdie sweet and clear,
‘‘Now light has turn, and so has I !”

When for me the silent oar
Barts the Silent River.
And I stand upon the shore
Of-the strange Forever
Shall I miss'the loved and known?
Shall I vanish s ekmine own?
’Mid the crowd that come to meet
Spirits sin iurgi.cn—
Listening to their echoing ieot
Down tile streets of heaven—
Shal[ I know a footstep near
That I lis.’eo, wait for, here?
Then will one approach the brink
With a hand extended,
flue whose thoughts I love to think
Ere the veil was rended,
Saying •‘Welcome! we have died,
And again are side by side.”
Saying, ‘I will go with thee,
That thou be not lonely,
To you hills of mystery:
I have waited oniy
